We got rid of the Horrible Kemba contract.

We get Al Horford back. A Stretch 4/5, who can bring the ball up.
We also get 7'2", 21 yr old.

This is me too.

I LOVE Moses. He projects as an Allen type of player to me. Maybe even a Capela. Great addition.

Now attention turns to Thompson and Maybe timelord as I am completely and entirely content with Horford/Brown lineup at center.

Think Timelord and an asset can get washington or Bridges?

Maybe, CHA is in desperate need of a center. Maybe they can get both TT and Timelord and we can look for a vet as a 3rd stringer(less expensive than TT preferrably).

I would like to somehow get Terrence Ross as our 6th man. That would make me very happy.

I think Thompson might end up in California.

In LA to be specific, or maybe in Sacramento.

IMO

Thompson for Bagley (bagley value is tanked. Be a good reclamation project)
Thompson and Edwards for Kennard
Thompson and ROmeo for Ross

Lots of Options

Timelord is about as durable as my 92 year old grandma. he's entering the final year of his rookie deal...he is going to be expensive beyond this year and as much as I like Timelord, I am not sold on him being worth the long-term investment. I view Timelord much more as a valuable trade chip to bring something back that can help the team for years to come. remember, it takes something to get something.

In this imaginary world where Boston is actually acquiring actual talent instead of watching their roster slowly dwindle into a steaming pile of turd plus Tatum and Brown.

I’ll give you a hint as well. Acquiring actual stars in this league requires giving up serious hauls. Not Rob Williams plus mid range first round picks which is all this team can ever offer.

Taking a look at the roster & around the league the Celtics clearly needed to move Kemba for some size (at the 4 spot).

The only true options I could foresee were Horford coming back or trading for Kristaps.

I wanted so bad to convince myself KP is the better choice (age, potential 20 PPG, 7’3) but I’m not sure this team deserved to take on another headcase (before we even touch the injury concerns).

Al, instead, is a more reliable vet presence, better D, better passer, better/just as good shooter + some fresh nostalgia for good measure.

What was missing the most this season was clearly a Horford/Hayward “make the right read” player. Kemba (loved him & appreciate him allowing the J’s to blossom) unfortunately just doesn’t play the stabilizer role well.

Getting a ball-mover back in the lineup was the key offseason move for me, so off to a nice start GMBS.

Timelord/Horford/Tatum/Brown/Smart
Moses/Jabari/Nesmith or Rome/Evan/Pritchard

Trade 1 of Nesmith or Rome (sorry, it’s time to make concrete decisions & pick a direction) + Tristan + GWill (+ sneak Edwards in a deal) for further reinforcements & there’s no excuse Chauncey or Cassell can’t lead us to true contender status.

WAY TOO EARLY to start rolling out rotations for the 21-22 season. Offseason just got started....This is only the first domino. The offseason will be the most wild offseason the Celtics have had in years

I agree! Acting like we only get one move an offseason! This is just step one on trying to fix a couple of Danny's missteps the last couple of years.

Fantastic trade. Kemba sucks guys. Small guard who doesn’t defend and shrivels up in the playoffs. No thanks.

The fact you also got a 1st rounder, and starting big man of the future. What a steal. Even Horford will help win now and has plenty left in the tank.

Team instantly better, and future/assets improved.

8.5/10 for Stevens on his first move.
Go Raps!!

Rubio comes to mind, I guess.

We will see. We will have the MLE, too, so maybe we wont need somebody who costs over 10 mils.
Good assessment:

He’s old, has creaky knees and our offensive creators are now Brown, Tatum and **** Smart.

This roster is putrid. It’s like nobody who works for Boston has any idea what is needed to win in today’s league.

Dude. Kemba sucks.

I ain’t saying he doesn’t.

I’m bemoaning how far this team has fallen. The amount of talent on the roster is putrid compared to 2-3 years ago.

How it has gotten to the stage where we are paying teams big to take our big contracts is beyond me.

Kemba might have gone to **** but when we got him he had talent offensively. Now we’ve got nothing outside of two players. Neither are natural playmakers either. Putrid, putrid, putrid.

If I’m Tatum I’m already considering where I’m
going next because this franchise ain’t building ****.

None of that has anything to do with this trade

Can you combine multiple TPEs into one move?

Good rebounder and rim runner, can block shots, but can't finish through contact.

Not for nothing but in the clip posted 6 inches above this, he finishes through contact in one game against the Celts multiple times. He is thin, obviously, but there's room on his frame to get stronger.

I think I agree with you. He's super talented but if Moses can replace some of what he brings then I don't really want to give Timelord big money to play 45 games a year. I'm pretty done with injury prone players. If I could use him in a package of like Smart/Timelord/Nesmith + multiple picks for Beal then I do it.

Trading Rob now would be completely idiotic. You have another full year to evaluate him and his health and his value isn't close to peak right now.

No, not really at all. If we dont do anything this offseason (no trade no extension) he becomes a restricted free agent.

I will take my chances that they guy who has missed half the games in his 3 year career will not become perfectly healthy overnight and gamble on the bigger, almost as athletic, better defensive and rebounding younger player who has maintained excellent health.

Would gladly trade a player to Toronto for a sign and traded Lowry into our TPE.

11.5 million left in the Haywrd TPE, be a nice contract for Lowry, imo

Send them a deep bench player for the favor.

Damn my first reaction was I am already 7 pages+ behind in news and I read all posts :banghead:

Meanwhile I am a Big believer that the draft had a lot of all-star potential with our 16th pick and that we need more talent. Flip side getting rid of Kemba + gaining a old, but floor spacing veteran Big who fits in the lockeroom and hopefully on the court was a good move. Gaining a hopefully talented *insurance policy for Timelord also good.

The winner of this trade may take a few years to know. Between Cap space and what Boston does with it, and what potential All-star did we lose by not drafting (Bam, MPJ were great mid-rd picks)

Wish Stevens would have held out for at least one of OKC's 2nd rders.

CONCLUSSION. I hate going to the dentist, especially at my age. But it is a necessary evil.
2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..
