I've seen that repeated by BBQ honks for 20 years, as if they aren't doctoring up that rack of ribs before adding it to a smoke filled chimney for five hours already.

I make, what I humbly consider, the best streak on the goddamn planet. I've had steak Florentine in Florence. It was awesome. What I make at home is just as good. I only use salt and pepper and it's amazing. But when I decide to make a steak au poivre sauce to go with it, the stuff is gone and plates are wiped clean with the meat immediately.

I've read that you don't need a sauce for perfectly cooked meat, but need's got nothing to do with it. A great sauce only adds and enhances the meat. The anti-sauce crowd is obnoxious.

Bitch-ass troll.

I do not disagree at all in principle. I love a good BBQ sauce and A1 is still my favorite steak sauce. I don't often use sauce with steak - unless you count basting it with the butter, garlic, herb, meat juices mix I'll get on a hot cast iron pan when searing it. But I don't object to it at all.

My biggest thing is that I think some people use too much sauce with their meat - so much so that all you're tasting is the sauce - and I often think that's a crutch for meat that less than excellent.

Yeah I have an awesome BBQ sauce recipe and also dry rub my smoked meats because I'm not a lunatic.

Brown sugar, ketchup, crushed tomatoes, molasses, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, smoked garlic powder, toasted onion granules, red pepper flakes, ground mustard, apple cider vinegar all combined and boiled/simmered.

I like mine a lot too. Butter, whole diced onion, chili sauce, ketchup, worcestershire sauce, cider vinegar, liquid smoke, salt, MSG, cayenne pepper, dark brown sugar. I always keep the ingredients on hand for when I need a batch.

Need some bbq sauce, generally have a spicy sauce and a carolina mustard.

On the flipside, kindof the same topic, get your god damn green chili off my burrito. A good burrito doesn't need to be smothered but that's against the law for most people in Denver.

The burritos at T-Bell and Taco Johns look gross as hell, and whenever I go to a not-gross Mexican joint I get something else. Burrito bowls for lyfe.

I rarely order burritos out but I've made them at home. Tasty. It's basically a large soft taco but the filling is more contained. A sleeping bag for ground beef (or chicken or whatever).

I highly suggest you stop what you're doing and head over to Tu Cassa - 3710 w Lincoln, and get a steak burrito.

The next time I'm in a more metropolitan area, I'll look up the best burrito joint and make it my first mission.

Doesn't hold a candle to a good mexican spot but the meat and potato burrito at Taco Johns is awesome. Only problem is the size seems to be 1/3 of what it used to be and isn't worth the cost anymore.

I like a burrito at a place in Milwaukee called Paloma. You can get poke tuna in it.

I can’t even comprehend not eating burritos. I love them. I’ve probably had thousands of burritos.

^^^ Me, walking into Qdoba at 2:30 AM every weekend in college prior to ordering and devouring a burrito.

Burrito Loco on the U of M campus. Make it a long lunch drive of like 1.5 hours each way.

It is more in the mold of a non-chain, plussed up version of Chipotle or Qdoba...but it's good. Or just go to even a semi-authentic place around you. Or hell, a Mexican food truck.

This is an unbelievable take - like I couldn't even comprehend it - until I remembered where you live.

No wonder you have such a low tolerance for spice.
