Adams next to a Draymond who no longer shoots isn't going to work. Especially not at that real money cost.

I'll need something convincing on why Draymond/Looney worked great, but Dray/Adams wouldn't work.

They got away with it because of the 620 minutes they played together Steph played 580 of them. That's not a lot of minutes over the course of a 72 game season and they paid a tiny fraction of the cost Adams would represent with salary and tax.

You should be thinking how can we upgrade Looney, not how can we pay both Looney and Adams a combined $80M or whatever it would be and still have neither of them in your closing 5 in games that matter.

Warriors just aren't going to throw money around foolishly like that.

That reasoning is largely money based, which is fine and understandable, but not really your original statement.

That's ~1/3 of Drays minutes on the season. The Warriors top 3 most used lineups had Dray next to a traditional 5 (Wiseman with more shooting, but not a shooter by any means). This holds true for earlier seasons too (top '19 lineup was with Looney, '17/'18 was with Zaza, '15/'16 with Bogut). I don't know where the idea came from that the Warriors 'need' to play small at any point, but imo it's emphatically untrue and shows a poor understanding of the Steph/Dray duo.

It's less than 10 minutes a game. Less than 5 minutes a half. Sorry but that's nothing.

May as well throw out all lineup data at that point.

And it's been happening for more than half a decade, arguably only 4 seasons if '15/'15 Dray don't count due to shooting.

When you have Curry, KD, and Klay you can play a non-shooting center. :D

I'm not throwing it out. But if you think less than 5 minutes a half proves the concept that playing Draymond and Wiggins and ? until Klay comes back with Curry and a non-spacing shooter is worth spending that kind of money on I cannot disagree strongly enough.

"Is worth" is the qualifier I'm saying is understandable. But you haven't made an argument without that 'is worth' yet.

Steph/Bazemore/Wiggins/Dray/Looney (+9.3/100) was the 17th most played lineup in the NBA this season. There's less than a dozen lineups that have played significantly more minutes than them. It certainly seems like you're throwing out lineup results as a valid commentary on lineup quality, which seems insane to me.

Fair enough. I still hate the idea, but you make valid points about the sample size being more significant than I made it out to be. I need to concede that point.

Dallas with the most obvious of obvious PR moves. Dirk is officially joining the team as a special advisor.

The guy keeps giving major assists to the franchise. Super, super rare to have that kind of loyalty, especially post career and after giving up millions at the end of his career to get nothing out of it really.

Good timing. Dirk officially joining the franchise in any legal way is a PR win that they desperately need right now.

Phoenix/Utah and Milwaukee/Atlanta would be a cool Conference Finals especially because one of those four teams would win. That would completely change the careers of CP3, Mitchell, Giannis or Trae.

Memphis fans - where y'all at on an Anderson/Bane/Tillman for Wiseman swap (maybe an additional salary guy like Paschall from the Warriors).

I hated it too then, but I've come around (playing the Grizz in the playoffs showed me a thing or two for sure)

I wouldn't have counted on this. I mean this Dallas offseason has been so weird, nothing was off the table.

Is Plumlee a good fit? He could play the Bogut role with ease it seems.
