So it's down to Chauncey, Udoka or Ham (lol Coach Ham).

Judging by Woj saying the Team USA guys on our team vouched for him and this, feels like Udoka is the guy

If the players like him then I’m all for Udoka. He seems like one of the good up and coming coaching candidates around the league and the players need someone they will buy into and respect. I don’t think they always had that with Brad. The fact that he’s a former player and can relate to the players on the team is another bonus. Get it done. If not him, Billups would be my main alternative.

Woj on TV just reported that Ime Udoka is "gaining traction" and is "a name to watch".

Had a really weird/awful dream that Mike Miller became our headcoach. Lol.

Can anyone give me some insight on Udoka? I know he's an assistant coach, but I don't know much about him.
Good assessment:

Who knows? Stevens may turn out to be a lousy GM, but I bet he knows how to pick a coach.

Cassell, Billups. Udoka. Ham. Lawson. Carlisle.

I'd be happy with any of them. I trust Brad to make the right decision.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

That does seem weird.

I could see him coaching, but I could see him coaching his son's AAU team first or maybe a high school. Team, then college.

Maybe an NBA assistant job for a few years. Who the hell knows.

But yeah, I could see it.

Funmy, you think about him and then Posey. Teammates and wings in Miami. What about Battier? Oh man, why the F^&* is Shane Battier not coaching? I bt that dude coach be a good coach..

So cerebral, so smart, articulate, outgoing personality without being obnoxious, clearly got a passion for the game. Experience long time as player, and lots of playoff and NBA finals game under his belt. Always seen as a very level headed guy.

Played for Coach K, Spoelstra, Jeff Van Gundy, Adelman, Popovich so some great coaches.

Ty lue rallying the crowd nice! Good thing we don’t have that robot and emotionless face of Stevens as a coach.

Plot twist: Brad stays HC and GM. They'll hire a couple assistants to help take the load off him.

I love what Ime says about the whole Spurs organization. Judging from what we saw on the court in Boston this past year, it hasn't applied to the recent Celtics:

Seen numerous Nets articles refer to him as the “defensive specialist” on the Nets staff. Defensive minded players coach? Sign me up.

You know Brad is not going to hire somebody who can’t excel on the defensive side of the court.

Hey Ime Udoka is married to actress Nia Long. From Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Boyz n the Hood, and Big Momma's House. I had a joke in my head when I started typing this but I already lost it, so this will now end my comment.

I hope that is the case. I also hope whoever it is brings in a modern-day Clifford Ray to work with the C's young bigs, especially. Here's a nice interview with Cliff: https://www.nba.com/warriors/catching_up_ray.html.

Or they could see if he wants to come back. Not sure he wants to stop being a part time consultant but if hes game its a no brainer.

That’s how my list looks too.

Billups, Cassell and Lawson have been in my top 3 since the start. I added Udoka and Ham recently to my list and also Carlisle a few days ago when he became available.

I think it will come down to Billups, Udoka, Lawson and Cassell.

Unfortunately I don't think Carlisle works with the Jays. But that's okay, plenty of young assistant-credentialed coaches looking to move up.
