He has top 15 all-time potential but coaching is critical for him to get there. It's why I want Carlisle so badly, perfect blend of hard-nosed coaching + elite coaching IQ/X's and O's.
Agreed. Giannis needs elite coaching more than other superstars.
Is that a drawback? I would assume some might say yes, it is.
I would consider this a potential advantage. I believe Giannis is actually one of the few superstars in this league that are willing to be coached. That should be a blessing for a team and not something counted against him.
There are coaches that would grow Giannis' game much more than what it is now (especially in playmaking/decision making/reading the game). You mention Carlisle. I would add Obradovic (the Bucks could possibly be in the rare situation where they could bring Obradovic and their superstar not only have no problem with that, but actually listen and follow his instructions). Surely there are others. It is the responsibility of the Bucks to find such a coach.
As I have stated, I believe that Bud is not that coach.
