That why I asked a few weeks ago what role player is worth between around 15 mill. Because I think people think either your Max player or league min player, rarely someone worth in between.

Letting an asset like Duncan walk for nothing is asset failure on top of everything else

Shoulda learned from the Bumpy fiasco. Paying him would be the mistake.

Robinson is not keeping the Heat from adding a third star. He is actually an asset to getting one

The belief is he’ll get in the ballpark of Joe Harris money. Which is 19 a year.

Bogdan-$18M
Harris-$16M
Green-$15

I'd say those contracts are a good representation of where DRob could end up. Somewhere in that strat.

Joe Harris is not making 19 a year. He is making 16 this year and next year and 19 two years later in 2023-24. By then which will be equivalent to making 12 mill now.

I think they tried to deal Duncan to the Raptors for Lowry but Raps countered with Herro. Raps did not want to deal with having to overpay Duncan either.

I agree not paying Duncan 20 plus mill. Someone might offer him that but i am not concerned someone will. I think its somewhere between 14 -16 mill per year which is fine. Which is a few mill more than Olynyk and JJ.

It all depends on the market for a shooter. I'd think that anyone with real interest would be a potential contender, one with a hole to fill. I don't know how many of those teams exist. On cursory glance, not many.

Duncan and Oladipo or Nunn for Harris and Dinwiddie.

If Robinson played decent defense we wouldn’t even be having this discussion. You want to continue blocking Herro who can create off the dribble and has the skill set to become an elite shooter. Robinson and Herro can’t coexist defensively. We need an athletic 3 and D wing that compliments one or the other.

It's not fine. He's not worth it. The guy sucks at offense and he sucks at defense and fans want to pay this guy $15 million a year?

Semantics. His contract averages 18.75 a year, Duncan is in the ballpark for that.

Remember the good old days when it was 3 and D guys that were getting overpaid? Now 3 and no D guys are making 8 figures. Unreal!

Duncan is the starting two guard. He’s blocking Herro and even more if you go long term paying him starters money. Herro is not a PG

Its not semantics. 20 is not 19 per year, 19 is not 18 per year and 18 is not 16 per year. As years go by that number becomes less of a affect on the cap because the cap rises. By 2024 are stars gonna be getting paid 50 mill per yr.

He only the starter because Herro not ready to start. There no obligation to start Robinson. When Herro ready he will start over Robinson. He might start next season. Robinson is not stunting anything.

Happy Father's Day by the way
