Bogey, Favors, and 30 for Simmons be in the value range? Or Clarkson, Favors, O’Neale, and 30?
Ingles is cooked.

Philly should try trade Simmons+Thybulle for Brown+Smart
I think this swap makes both teams better.

Re: Eliminated: Philadelphia is out, knee-jerk trades & solutions (Credit to Foshan)
McCollum for Simmons seems like the best plausible value for Philly right now. What's the next best trade if Portland isn't willing to do that? As a Wolves fan, before the playoffs I thought if Simmons plays terribly, maybe D'Angelo Russell + a FRP would be in play. Now I wonder if Simmons for Russell straight up might be possible. Probably not, but then again can you think of a player whose value dropped this precipitously? Dude is owed $33M, $35M, $37M, and $40M over the next 4 years. I can imagine Philly feeling desperate to trade him and finding a very thin market.

I have no idea why you think Gobert and Simmons together is a good idea on offense (it's not).

Yeah its disgusting. And its especially irritating when its posters making those offers to bring him to their favorite team for the worst contracts on their roster and no value. Like its one thing to way overreact and say Ben Simmons is now massively negative value(he is not of course) but you lose all credibility to those claims when your goal is to get him to your team. So you realize he's an upgrade but you don't want to pay fair value even fictionally. I don't understand the point of this. At all.

Re: Eliminated: Philadelphia is out, knee-jerk trades & solutions (Credit to Foshan)
I think Simmons has nose dived his trade value to the point that it would be almost stupid to trade him, but hey, I've always been against the idea of moving him.
The holes on the Sixers are blatantly obvious, I just didn't think they'd hurt them to the point that they'd lose to such a mediocre team. But hey, that's what happens when you give away games.
They've got to figure out a way to add a PG. Whether that's as simple as cutting Hill and using the MLE, doing a S&T, or trading for someone under contract... I don't know. But one things for sure: Ben Simmons doesn't get to call himself a PG anymore.

I'm not sure he would. I don't think we would even have the best offer. But I'd argue Fox is the best player he ever played with.BoogieTime wrote:RipPizzaGuy wrote:I don't think Philly wants to trade him. I just think he's over it. His knees are hanging by a string, and that string is already on the line playing through his meniscus. I wouldn't think of going there, but I also think Philly won't trade him. They aren't blowing it up, they will continue to build around Embiid til they can't anymore. I don't see Embiid asking out, and don't see why he'd rather be in other places.
Then this year no lebron, no curry, Brooklyn out, it's the most wide open it's ever been. And they can't even get passed the 5th seed hawks? I don't think he's going to be happy even with a Simmons trade.

He strikes me as a loyal guy, but we'll see
I think GS can offer the most, and give him a championship year 1.

I mean we've been bantering about CJ for Simmons for a long time. It used to be... the bridge was too big to gap... I always disagreed with that notion. The 76ers are probably still playing in these playoffs with CJ instead of Simmons, he's just a better roster fit. I still think Portland needs to add some value.. don't know how much. However, it's clear to me that after Simmons post season, there is no reason that the "value gap" between the two players should be considered too wide.

Really? Smart could be lost for nothing in a year. You're getting Simmons and Thybulle locked in for a while. I felt a big reason Bosotn slipped this year was that their defense tanked. Also, they could do with a playmaker like Simmons.

I’d rather go the other way and do a Lillard for Embiid type of trade with whatever necessary fillers (Nurk probably needs to go to a third team for a guard) and then try to throw whatever non-Dame/Maxey (I’m just irrationally high on him)/Harris/Simmons pieces/picks it takes to get Myles Turner. This probably isn’t very realistic though.
Rest in peace Mamba. There'll never be another Kobe.

Dude, that isn't his value
And Simmons won't be moved this summer. Philly needs to impress upon him this time around to not leave the gym until that stroke is sufficient

I think Simmons is going to go for a lot less than what you are thinking. This happens pretty much every time with a big trade, people get chided for their trade suggestions, then the trade happens, then it is followed with the trade board veterans going "wow I can't believe he went for that". It's a predictable pattern. We have no idea what the actual value of players is in the NBA.

I think the best possible use of Simmons is as a Center or on a team who has not just a floor spacing center, but the best shooting center in NBA History--Karl-Anthony Towns.
The issue with Minnesota is they don't have the proper assets to give to Philly. Malik Beasley is nice and has more size than Curry but he can't be the major piece coming back. Rubio could help as a significantly better shooter than Simmons but then the team loses some of its larger wing defense.
Anthony Edwards is a non-starter from the Wolves perspective--maybe Philly wants D'Angelo Russell and his talents?
All these seem low-ball, but then again thats what a team should offer Philly at this moment.

I think this is actually the most realistic option. Selling now when his value is lower than low just doesn't make sense.

Philly fans treat him horrible, and have been for a while. They are already telling him to rot in hell on their board. There is no reason for Simmons to want to stay and fix his problems there.

I mean the foundation of the move doesn't work. Portland's not going to trade Dame for Embiid. Lillard is the lifeblood of the organization, and at this point that be absolutely crucified if they traded him for a bigman with Embiid's injury history, no matter how good he is.

Okay, this is dumb. Portland doesn't have a lot of moves and McCollum's trade value is far more meh than Blazers fans want to admit.mhd wrote:Philly would have to add value in a Simmons-CJ swap. Its very risky to trade for Ben considering his mental state.
