If he plays, there wont be a dominant first option C who will put him in stand around do nothing mode , but plenty of perimeter shooters to feed off him.

Boomers also have other ball handlers who can find him while the Sixers haven’t had anyone in his entire professional career

Patty Mills, Joe Ingles and the corpse of Exum are way better than anyone he’s ever played with

Ben has only himself to blame but the Sixers haven’t helped him at all

I still say Russell or CJ is as good as it gets for Simmons. Like it or not, those are the options. You can move him for a lottery pick too.

We're almost at the "Horford's point": addiction by subctraction.
That's his mindset first of all more than abilities or shooting.

I maintain that his value, while way down from where it once was, is still pretty good.

Simmons is not worth CJ + Roco + 2 FRPs ...

that's just delusional homering

Simmons is a very good defender and is the only player on the team that can create easy shots for others. Granted he cant usually do it in the half court but getting someone like McCollum or Russell (lol) will not make the team better.

Disagree they will certainly Make the team better especially in the playoffs. Ben has to go and if the return isn’t what we had hoped for than so be it, but he has to go.

If the Sixers can somehow get rid of Ben and get both Lowry and CJ that would be a great offseason

Really? Ben had Butler who even though was frozen out to a secondary role up until the very last game of that fateful year did more for both Embiid and Ben then people care to think about it.

Seriously Butler is massively undervalued for what was the one and only time we were legit as contenders go.

Harris was invisible once again like always. Thing’s don’t change unless the change comes from the source.

It’s on Ben.

It’s ALL on Ben

BUT Jimmy was never frozen out

He was made the PG and completely **** it up

He refused to shoot 3s

He had to be moved off Kawhi on defence

His performance here is looked at with rose tinted glasses due to 1 shot that covered up a heap of weaknesses

Hey here’s a weakness how about a 6”10” mental midget and there’s two off them actually do
something when the time calls for it.

Ur an idiot mate. Butler won us games against Raptors ffs.

Ben has done nothing to improve. Nothing.

How about you take off the rose tinted glasses. Everybody has else.

Harris + Ben are huge problems to deal now.

Butler never was

Simmons won game 6

Stop being emotional

Ben isn’t the answer

Jimmy wasn’t

Both are true

They need a more balanced roster that complements building a championship team around Dame. They'll ideally trade CJ and then re-sign Powell. Adding Simmons to Portland will make a lot of sense for them.

There is a framework for a CJ/Simmons swap if you guys are interested. It would help both teams.

portland trail blazers shouldve been on the phone last night

you made a great point about our team and hopefully this goes through

Simmons + Hill for CJ + Covington + 2023 & 2025 POR FRPs

Green(20)/Curry(24)/Maxey(4)
Covington(16)/Thybulle(24)/Green(8)
Harris(34)/Covington(14)
Embiid(32)/Howard(16)

McCollum/Maxey/SRP
Green/Curry/Milton
Covington/Thybulle/Joe
Harris/FRP/Tolliver
Embiid/Howard/Reed

I understand the concern about McCollum not being a top 15 player. He's not a true 2nd banana. But do we win this series with him and Cov instead of Ben and Hill? Absolutely. Do we potentially take down Milwaukee too? I think it'd give us a better shot than what we have now.

Unless Dame or Beal are there for the taking (which I don't expect, as they're both loyal AF), I think this is the best move out there.

wow this is a lopsided Philly trade. you're essentially saying that Simmons is worth 3 assets plus CJ? no way

I think the age/contract situation of both players make it so. You could argue one less pick, but I think that’s what it would take.

Despite his flaws, I think Simmons will still have considerably more value league-wide than CJ.

If you’re shopping Simmons, i can guarantee you most teams would at least inquire about his value. I still believe he can fetch you a star in return, as he should.

I could see a team like San Antonio or Golden State making the move. I mean ****… think about what Ben would do in a fast-paced scheme like Sacramento, or a team lacking perimeter defense like Portland. He can bring most these teams in the lotto to decent playoff contention.

It’s not everyday you have the potential to trade for a 6’11 3x all star and future DPOY by 25.

My targets:
Dame (don’t think it’s happening)
Beal (don’t think that’s happening either)
Lavine
SGA
Demar (meh)
