Until and unless Simmons learns how to shoot, I don't know how he's a key member of a championship team in today's NBA.

I wouldn't trade green for simmons straight up, but if phila is willing to throw in seth curry and to take oubre on a S&T that's a different story.

Re: way too early Philly speculation
I'm starting to change my mind on Simmons. He's really terrible in the fourth quarter. He's very passive and can be taken out of the game with intentional fouls that send him to the charity stripe.
With Dray at least you know he's always giving 110% when it matters even if that can sometimes backfire.

One and only one way he fits is if we trade Dray. Impossible to play two non shooting bigs together.

Question: Would the board rather have Wiseman or Simmons? Both have growth-deficiencies; yet, both have huge upsides. Simmons is still on 24-years old and Wiseman is on 20-years old.
Big IF; however, if Simmons is willing to play center (he is 6"11 and weighs 240) and can get his head right about shooting free throws (BTW, Lonzo had a much uglier looking shot and worked hard to make it become a good shot), he would create serious problems for opposing teams on both ends of the floor.
My personal bias will be coming through here; Draymond is my favorite player on this Warrior team and I would not want to see him traded for anyone (Green and Curry are a beautiful "1-2" combination to watch on the offensive end of the floor, and Draymond Green is the best defensive player in the league); yet, Simmons is very intriguing.

Simmons stock is down big time but if he is available that is large potential value. If Draymond gets you Simmons, you do it. If Wiggins does, you do it. The fit might be worse in the second case though but you go for quality and before the Sixers were eliminated I think Simmons would have been considered qualitatively superior.
Simmons has some things going on in his personal family life that may be affecting him. I'm also surprised his fit with Matisse Thybulle hasn't drawn more scrutiny. They both cannot score and I'm wondering why having them both on the court at the same time would be considered ideal despite their defensive skills.

Wiseman easily. Simmons has mental block problems. That’s one of the hardest problems to correct.
The front office could gamble, but Green and Wiggins contribute more. They would have to gamble Simmons could recover, but there is nothing in his past history to show any growth.

I forgot who brought it up, but after looking at it, the problem with Ben simmons is that he is the same player he has been the entire 4 years he has been in the nba. Just look at his stats and percentages. Team started getting more talent - same stats. And that worries me. I like him alot as a player but I agree with the draymond dilemma of both. The problem I see with the main point is that are you expecting for Wiseman not to develop at all?

Re: way too early Philly speculation
If I were to gamble, I would do a Green Simmons trade, but I’m not sure I would do that because of how valuable Draymond is to the team leadership wise. It was like when this team traded Tim Hardaway, Mullin was not the leader that Tim was. That led Spreewell not to be checked.

Draymond and Looney for Simmons. Fix Ben's head and have Rick Barry teach him underhand ft's.
Steph
Klay
Wiggins
Simmons
Wiseman
not sure I would do it and don't think it would be enough for Philly

I like your thinking; yet, it might make more sense to get Fred Vinson (he was the coach who worked with both Lonzo and Ingram) than Rick Barry.
BTW, the lineup which you had posted is more-than-intriguing. Very cool!

Whatever it takes with Simmons to get his head right, ayahuasca, ketamine or change of scenery.

LOL.
Might I suggest that a healthy ecosystem where he, Simmons, can integrate into an environment where everyone has a clearly defined role and where he, Simmons, can operate within his power zone (defense, ball distribution, rebounding, getting into the paint on offense) as the first step?

thats a 35 win team right there. small ball will destroy us and wiseman will put up 25 shots when Curry gives up ball against double team.

Will Klay suddenly not shoot the ball? Steph and Klay will space the floor, Wiggins shot a respectable 38% from 3 and can slash, put Wiseman in the dunker spot and let Simmons slash, run and pass.

he would be still moving while the ball is already in the air. think about it, if Simmons is the pg he would be passing to the big man

ok, I'm guessing you just see Wiseman as having reached his potential and will be an inefficient chucker for his entire career.

he is now, unless he proves otherwise. if you gamble the franchise on wiseman might as well trade Curry and Klay too.

Embiid being injury project scares me a lot but we don't need him to carry the load with Curry, Klay on offense and Green on defense with Looney as backup
Then turn around and trade Embiid for Adebayo and Herro. Problem solved.
in no world would I want Herro.

Yeah, there are only two options, hate on Wiseman or trade Steph and Klay.
