Not overly sweet at all, pretty refreshing.

As a long time Fever Tree tonic drinker I decided to give Pink Grapefruit a try and it’s great. Gin, Fever Tree and a lime with all the ice. Just crisp.

This is best BBQ sauce I’ve ever had. Made some pulled pork yesterday and it was soooo good.

I think I was too young for La Bamba's or I was not cool enough and didn't go.

Yes, I had Jin's a lot. He had a TV with Lil Wayne videos playing most of the time in my era.

Jin's and QDoba were generally the convenient walk home drunk food. We made a lot of Asian Kitchen orders. I don't recall La Bamba's, though. Was it a food truck?

For a very brief period of time which was conveniently in my fattest time of life (last year of college) they put in a Fat Sandwich, which I think is a failed chain emulating the New Jersey frankensandwiches where you'd have a sandwich with like chicken fingers, jalapeno poppers, roast beef, french fries, and ranch or some **** like that on a hoagie. I recall hitting that walking out of Monday's a lot that year...I tried the sandwich sober once and it was not good.

La bambas was on the second floor above a corner street level restaurant where Gilman met State that has changed like a million times. I think it might have been a chili or hot dog or hamburger place the last time I saw it. It was a truly awful burrito, but it was as big as your head.

Speaking of Gilman, the original Amy’s Cafe was the best. Broccoli cheddar in a bread bowl was the $5 sustenance I needed at least once a week for 4 years.

Oh yeah it probably was Real Chili. I lived near there in its short life and we hit it occasionally as a hangover mop. Looks like two Milwaukee locations still exist?

Still can't really remember La Bamba's but might've been.

Memory is not usually on-point when considering La Bambas

You guys (I think?) are a few years older than me. When were you frequenting La Bamba?

2000-2004 was undergrad for me. Though, by 2003-2004, we were walking down Park to hacienda quite a bit. It was a hike, but they served beers after bar time somehow. Plus bennets was right there, if you really needed to keep it rolling.

Ah, yeah. I came in a year after you left.

I did not hit up Hacienda as much as I should've.

Bennett's closed shortly after my freshman year. A large group of us naively stayed up all night as a rite of passage to go to Bennett's and were not smart enough to realize you needed an ID to get in. Tried to walk in at 7 AM and only one of us had a fake at the time. Then I think it closed a month or two later. We all had older siblings that told us tall tales, we were just too dumb to catch on to that part.

I worked at La Bamba in 1993.

As mentioned, the food sucked, but you got a lot of it for not much money.

I took today off to take my dad golfing, only to have him request we move it to a different day because it was windy and cold (it's 62 out, precisely why I wanted to golf today). So instead I'm doing stuff around my place including installing a wall wrack for pots and pans.

I could have measured it out before I ordered it, but goddamn this thing was much heavier and wider than I anticipated. It took multiple Menards trips but I finally got it set up, and now I'm gonna spend the rest of my time in this place waiting for the inevitable crash.

I looked it up now and there is a La Bamba on Gammon. Surprised if that was there near the end of school for me that I hadn't randomly had it for lunch at my co-op/internship when I spent a ton of time out there.

The one on campus has been gone for a while?
