But TT plus Parker is???

YEs,

Assuming HArrell opts out and Davis continues to insist on NOT PLAYING CENTER

Lakers can get a cost controlled for only 1 season center who knows how to fit and win championships with lebron. Lakers can find any point guard that can defend and hit some shots off the free agency pile.

PArker they can keep as a scoring backup pf/c or just cut him as he in non guaranteed.

Then they add a 2nd or 2 down the road.

This is a financial deal that also fills a need. I think it is pretty darn close.

Ok this has to stop. If you value TT and Parker more than Kuzma, then let’s just agree to disagree then.

I think the move with the Lakers is TT for sign and traded Caruso. Let them find market for Kuzma without us.

Agree.

Looks like Smart is not going to be the starting PG next season.

I bet he'd play anywhere. He be great as a 4. He can guard anyone on the floor, he's got great passing skill, plays hard, terrific conditioning. If he shoots a 100 corner 3s a day, he'd be our starting 4 in a nano.

Pritch Brown Tatum Simmons Moses.

Wait why are people trying to talk themselves into Ben Simmons being a good idea? He’s the last thing we need on this team. He’s a diva just like Kyrie except he’s not as outspoken & refuses to shoot.

So I like Ben Simmons as a playmaking 4, but don't see him as a PG. Would I consolidate some pieces for Simmons? Probably but nothing Philly would be interested in.

Smart, TT, a pick swap next year in the first (Philly is likely to have a better record), and our first the next year...? Is that a competitive package? Add Grant Williams?

Then we really need a PG...

Pritchard/FA, Brown, Tatum, Simmons, Horford

Rob, Nesmith, Romeo, Moses...

Tatum operates best as a point forward so far in his career and Brown's big leaps have come with more on ball responsibility. I don't think you want a playmaking point guard around them. You want a floor spacer and guys who can make secondary passes. A playmaking PG would take the ball out of Tatum's and Brown's hand for the primary play execution and that doesn't seem to be what makes them effective.

Completely disagree.

Tatum with the ball in his hands was out of necessity. A playmaking point guard would make the Celtics a whole lot better and get Tatum and Brown easier shots. Tatum and Brown take a ton of tough shots.

Lonzo anyone?

Tatum took way too many tough shots, Jaylen (despite the narrative) really didn’t after he started cutting the deep two’s out of his game a quarter of the way into the season. For my issues with Jaylen, he takes mostly great shots. Only goes ISO 7% of the time, gets out in transition as much as pretty much anyone in the league, and 80% of his threes are assisted.

Of course a playmaking point guard would help some, but I’m guessing Brad would rather a great catch and shoot guy at PG as opposed to a true playmaker. Tatum is going to have a 30-32% usage almost regardless, so need to surround him with shooters.

Tatum has never displayed any sort of feel for moving off the ball. Even when he gets hit on a kickout with an open shot he holds the ball and does a rhythm dribble before the shot half the time. A playmaking PG model would be asking Tatum to basically trash his entire offensive game and start over. He's more comfortable dribbling into his shot.

He can always pattern his game like KD. Getting the ball at the perimeter, or at top and work from there. Post up or face up and dribble. He would use too much energy bringing the ball up. His handles are not that elite.

I think they'd want Romeo too, but I like Brogdon a lot and would probably do it still, especially with us getting Holiday in this trade.
