I am sure from Golden State's perspective its logical.

One of the biggest misnomers that many in the US media make is that Wiggins being Canadian somehow makes him more valuable to us.

It doesn't.

Nah it doesnt- you're right. But if a rebuild is what we're trying to do, we could do a lot worse than Wiggins, Wiseman and 2 high value firsts for Siakam and fillers, which is exactly what I would be looking for.

If the deal was Siakam for a framework of Wiggins, Wiseman, and two first rounders;
Sure! You get a pick for taking on Wiggins remaining deal then two functional assets for Siakam.

That is a deal I make tomorrow.

Agree. If that's the deal you take it and run. Wiggins' contract isn't as terrible as it once was with only two years left and maybe Nurse has the keys to unlock something(wishful thinking). Wiseman is a serviceable big with upside. And if you're talking about adding the 6th pick and a first from next year draft (double cohort?). That's a ton of depth and value for Siakam.

If the Minny pick is 4th/5th, I do that deal without Wiseman. Wiggins + Minny 4th/5th pick + GSW 14th for Siakam.

OJ at the 3 spot would definitely be an interesting experiment. Never thought of that one.

Hahaha for sure. And if Johnny Cochrane was still around he'd make an ideal coach or a great GM. We'd get away with everything.

We are actually one of the best trade partners for Simmons if we're interested.

VanVleet is just below all star level the last two years. In addition he is a much better fit on the Sixers than Simmons by giving them a shooting and creating PG who has hit big shots in the playoffs. He would be one of their team leaders on both ends. For the Sixers the difference in fit is enough to make up the gap in talent between Simmons and VanVleet. I think straight up trade of Simmons and VanVleet is a good trade for them.

The question is would we do it? We're not really going anywhere atm with FVV and Siakam and Simmons would give us a 25 year old all star to build around in addition to Anunoby, OG and our draft pick.
It's going to be a glorious day... I feel my luck could change

This offseason could be one of the biggest in our franchise's history. Here is how I would like our offseason to somewhat look like:

Hopefully get the 2nd or 3rd pick and draft Evan Mobley. comparing him to the other top talent from an analytics standpoint, he has the highest PER, OWS/40, WS/40, BPM, OBPM and DBPM. Mobley in our developmental system and in terms of fit makes a lot of sense.

Trade both our second round picks to move up into the early 1st round to draft Chris Duarte. Amongst the top SGs in the draft, he has the highest True shooting %, PROJ 3pt rate, PER, OWS/40, WS/40, DBPM,OBPM and the BPM (Best player meter). Forget his age of 24. He's ready to contribute now and he is 6'6 (not one of our small guards).

Draft Mobley and Duarte
S/T Lowry
Resign Khem and Trent Jr.
Resign Yuta
Sign Frank Nilikina (give him a chance on a team friendly deal)

This may not look like a "sexy" team, but this team would develop and compete all at the same time.

Mobley/Birch/Gillespie
Siakim/Boucher/
OG/Yuta/Watson
Trent Jr/Duarte/Harris
Fred/Flynn/Nilikina

Valuewise the two 2nd picks we have would probably get us a pick between 31-36 not a late 1st

Did you just clone OG? If so, could you go ahead and make us a Kyle clone while you’re at it

Anyways…I think I’d actually be open to a deal for Simmons but it really depends on what it would take. Most I’d do is FVV and filler (Baynes?) and our 2 seconds

If that’s not enough for Philly then I’d rather not add much more

I think if we package a future 2nd of our own we could get something in the 27-30 range

Last 2 30th picks (KPJ and Bane) were traded for a pair of 2nd rounders I think

Can we draft Suggs and trade FVV and Trent + 2022 first round pick for Simmons? And bring back Lowry?

Bruh. Suggs and Lowry would be a disgusting, unselfish, winning backcourt.

Lowry/Suggs/Simmons/Siakam/Birch/OG/Boucher/Flynn/Gillespie/Bembry

Are you guys seeing the defensive potential / ball movement of that team?

Fred, Suggs, OG, Siakam is a pretty solid core. I really like GTJ as a 6th man, we'll see.

S&T Lowry for Porzingis. As a 5th option, KP works just fine and fills a need at 5 that can shoot the 3 as well.

100%.

The fact is, Siakam doesn't fit the timeline anymore now that we have a real cornerstone asset (likely Suggs). I love him, but a 27/28 year old whose game is predicated around athleticism isn't what this team needs at this point. Pascal will be declining in 2-3 years when this team is really hitting its stride. We've tried sloting him in as the number 1 the past couple years and it just hasn't worked. Add to that, he hasn't stepped up as a leader the same way Fred has and has clashed with Nurse.

Slot Wiggins in the forward spot beside OG and draft a couple long athletic guys with those lottery picks to develop. Wiseman had an off year, but is still full of potential. Making this trade to go along with the 4 pick, OG, Trent, Flynn and a young veteran leader in FVV puts us in a situation other teams literally spend 5 years aspiring for. Tons of young assets, tradeable contracts and one of the best development systems in the league. It probably means us being back in the lottery for at least 1 more year, but that's an exciting group right there and its not hard to imagine Nurse putting it all together and getting them to overachieve. I might even be inclined to bring back Kyle on a big 1 year to help the whole thing transition and have that calming presence in the room with all these young guys coming in.

The more I think about it, the more sense it makes.

I’m seeing a pretty poorly constructed team, to be frank.
