PHI IN: Lowry, Juancho, 2023 MIN FRP
PHI OUT: Simmons

BRO IN: Beasley, Okogie

Why for MIN: get elite defender, surround Simmons with 4 shooters
Why for PHI: get veteran PG for another run in playoffs
Why for TOR: get temporar solution at PG with Rubio, get assets
Why for BRO: reset situation after Harris playoff dissappointment

Then sign Torrey Craig, Khem Birch

KAT/Reid/Birch
Simmons/Craig/Vando
Harris/McDaniels/Layman
Edwards/Nowell/Bolmaro
Russell/McLaughlin/Bolmaro

You overvalue Harris he just showed he is not worth his contract and is basically useless when he does not shoot well. Pretty sure Brooklyn regrets giving Harris that contract.

They might but I still think he fits better as starting SF for them then Beasley as 6th man, so don't see them interested.

I would also talk to his buddies Towns and Russell. How happy would they be? Would they put their names on the line what the bro-trio can become. And this part shouldn’t be belittled, it would almost guarantee a Towns re-sign in 3 offseason and in 2 offseasons, Russell re-sign for less to much less than his current max.

Simmons
Thybulle
Maxey or Milton
#28

That is a nice package for Edwards + Rubio + Filler.

Towns
Simmons
Thybulle
Beasley
Russell

Or

Towns
Simmons
McDaniels or Hernangomez
Thybulle
Russell
Beasley as super scoring 6th.

A whole lot would need to check out before I signed off on the deal.

Love McDaniels.. But I would do this trade if we lose top 3 pick tonight. https://dunkingwithwolves.com/2021/06/22/minnesota-timberwolves-3-potential-malik-beasley-trades/amp/2/
McDaniels+Beasley+Rubio+future 1st for Simmons. Use MLE to sign Bobby Portis.

Too rich for my taste. Is that future first round pick lottery protected?

Honestly, does it even matter? I don't see this much positive value in a Simmons trade if any at all. Simmons has been exposed, laid bare to the league, with little to no improvement over his career, possible regression and perhaps mental blockages. He is a 30mil + defender with a game that is detrimental to modern functional offenses. He is paid like a player you build around, but you can't or don't want to. Salary filler + a lottery protected pick or a swap of bad contracts like McCollum seems on par. Players who are comparable defenders without offensive concerns, making market or below have struggled to get 2 frps or a pick and an asset. Simmons is worth considerably less than those players with making 30+ million.

I really love the idea to go after Ben (If we can dump Dlo, even better)... This actually would get me excited again about the Wolves
Ben is so undervalued right now when for me and for all I think is a matter of a fresh start in a new place for him by restoring some of his lost confidence. And KAT-Ben-Ant would be such a powerful trio. I really hope we try to make a move for him. Even if the cost is Dlo and Beasley.

Build with these 3 and find shooters to complete the roster next.

There are really two paths I see to a Simmons trade....Rubio/Beasley/1st or Russell/1st. I personally would lean towards the first package.

I think a future lottery protected 1st or two is the best Simmons gets, I would rather have Beasley wouldn't surprise me at all if our FO feels the same. Dude makes 38mil in the last year of his contract... AWFUL!!!!!! Filler (Rubio, Culver and Juancho) + a lottery protected 1st is my best offer.

I don’t see Twolves trading D-Lo for Simmons when part of the push to do so would becoming from D-Lo & Towns.

Rubio + Beasley + FRP (top 3) is the deal to get Simmons if Twolves are interested.

1st easy yes on the 2nd trade. The other two are god awful tho.

But more importantly, the draft lottery is tonight? I had no idea. Do you know where I can watch it?

No one is sending a top 3 pick for Simmons, enough with that nonsense.

There is no reason a 24 year old all star should be having confidence issues and playing like a scared princess offensively when it matters most. He needs major psychological help.

Ben Simmons has a 15% trade kicker

So his salary is 33 million, with the trade kicker it goes to 38 million.

Rubio, Beasley, Juancho, and if we win the lotto and get top 3 tonight.

That will be 38 million in and 38 million out

Get it done!!!

Unlikely, but he could also waive the trade kicker
