Ehh….

That shot is rough man!!!!!

I think it’s fixable.

Idk man!!!

It’s one of the worst shots I’ve ever seen!!!!!

Lol how long you been watching basketball?
How fast do we forget MKG.
Do you remember Kidd when he came into the league ?
You remember how Lonzo’s looked when he came into the league? It’s completely restructured.

You gotta remember that these are all prospects and have their flaws. Gotta believe in the staff and people we put around the young kids. It’s 2021 & like NoDope just said, his FT % is good. That’s telling.
And have you seen the other parts of his game?...
If this height thing is true....that’s big time

If he's 6'4" in shoes he's a top 7 pick

It's hard to believe but maybe he had a growth spurt, either that or they measured the top of his fro.

Outside of the top 4 or 5 guys this draft is really not any noticeably better than the other drafts if at all IMHO.

He plays nothing like a 6'4" player so they can list him as whatever they want, he plays like he's 5'10" without shoes and 6'0" max in shoes.

correct the top 4 potentially the top 5 is what makes this class. I don't know if the later lottery or rest of the 1st have significantly better pieces then other drafts. Its just this top 4 would arguably the most anticipated prospects since maybe Anthony Davis.

Zion was a star but he was more of a freak athlete then #1 option franchise changer.

I actually disagree, but it’s due to the top 5. Those 5 pushed everyone else down a few spots draft. All 5 of them would be candidates to go #1 most years. I actually think all 5 would go first last year too if they were the only one in that year’s draft.

So normally you might have guys of the talent level of a Scottie Barnes and Moses Moody in the top 5, Kispert would be a lock for top 10, etc etc. now all those guys are a few spots down and it creates a rising tide situation where even though we’re drafting at 19 and 21 that is likely the level of talent that would be seen at the end of the draft and etc. I think that is the league’s approach too because you see teams hoarding draft picks. 6 teams have a third of the first rounders and and the trend of hoarding extends into the early second round.

I can’t remember a draft like that before.

I don’t know. I don’t want to be prisoner of the moment, but people want Ben Simmons head on a stick right now because he can’t shoot.

If Rife can’t get that shot in order I fear he’s more Elfrid Payton than Chris Paul at the next level.

That's a hard thing to have happen. Hope everything turns out ok. But yeah, this is going to likely cause his draft position to drop. Even if they don't see something immediately alarming any time it's that teams are just not going to take the risk.

Yeah that's why I specifically used it. I think it's not a weak draft up and down and is probably above average but definitely top heavy IMO.

Elfrid was a 61% shooter from the line and Simmons was 67%.

Freethrow percentage is a good indicator of shooting potential, he shot 82.5% on high attempts (8.6 per game). I'd only be interested in him if he's actually 6'4" in shoes though, if that height is real I'd risk drafting him and investing almost all development time with shooting.

I don't think Simmons problem is that he can't shoot. Demar Derozan can't shoot and he's doing just fine as a primary scorer. Simmons problem is that he has some Frank in him. He can score (has the tools) but for some reason he just can't seem to channel it to score. With some guys it's a mental thing. Let's be honest it's not easy to score in the NBA especially if you can't shoot. You have to not just be physically ready to handle the pounding if you're have to go to the basket more but you also have to be mentally tough enough and have that alpha type mentality. I just think Simmons just doesn't have that type of mindset. Doesn't mean he's crap (like way to many reactionary and over the board fans in Philly is saying) it just means he's not the type of offensive stud that fans want and wish and need him to be just like Randle isn't Lebron James when it comes to being able to carry little to no talent to anything.
