they could just take Green and go with a Sexton Green backcourt

I mean if you were them would you be trying to trade sexton, I probably wouldn’t

You're forgetting about Garland.

I’d probably just bring him off the bench or trade him before I got rid of Sexton

Garland is the better PG of the two of them, he actually looks to get people involved, Sexton is a great scorer but he's a 2 trapped in a PGs body.

A guy like Sexton isn't going to want to come off the bench coming up on a contract extension.

Cade is going to be completely capable of playing anything from 1-3 in the NBA. Detroit can start him and Hayes together if they want to.

Oh agreed. I was just talking in perspective on Green was going to go in an be the #1 option in DET who had a dreadful offense.

Cade is the clear number 1. I was talking the ideal fit for Green.

with Jarrett Allen in CLE?

My guess is CLE now trades one of there guards.

Is Jarrett Allen stopping you from getting Mobley? Offensively, Mobley is on another level compared to Allen. Although I do think Green has more potential and like him more as a long term prospect. They would have to be set on moving somebody like Sexton if they did take Green though.

which I think they will

garland and sexton wont work too small.

Their size isn't the issue why they don't work

Have to think Houston goes Mobley at 2. They have a glaring need for a defensive 2 way center or really any sort of defensive presence. I think if they want Suggs they'll try and trade down for him. Cleveland might give them an extra first to ensure Mobley. KPJ, Wood, and Mobley is a good start for a rebuild for Houston though.

I personally think Green is the clear cut number 2 in this draft though. So Houston really can't go wrong with their pick IMO.

there size is a big issue...neither can defend any opposing backcourt. They both are talented offensive players.

Why can't they just use Cade as the number 1? He's going to be a much better NBA player than college player.

thats not the point I was making. Cade will be the primary ball handler. I was again talking about the best fit for Green. Not for the Pistons. I'm talking for the players perspective.

I think it depends on whether Ujiri comes back or not. Under Ujiri, I could see them doing a quick retool and even trading the pick if it gets them someone like Beal.

Trent Jr does seem like a sign and trade candidate regardless.

not a huge fan of trading rj, BUT if you're going to trade RJ for a pick in this draft, it needs to be whatever one lands you Green. 2 or 3. not 4.

You have to do it if Green or Suggs on the board.

If they bust while we already know RJ is a young improving solid player you never get hired to be an executive in the league again

they are going to be able to put out some unique lineups. Very big, very switchable.

Hayes/Cade/Grant/Bey

all interchangeable. All can handle a bit. All good passers. everyone outside of hayes is a proven shooter.
