definitely a good find. I don't mind seniors either. shooting a plus. don't think he is quick enough to be a four-man defensively, but a decent 4-5 man.

Yeah he does kind of seem like more of a stretch 5 than a stretch 4. All of the defensive clips are him blocking shots at the rim, rather than locking people down on the perimeter which is moreso what we need.

I'd rather get a stretch 4 who can really lock people down on the perimeter, move his feet, switch on screens but also has some ability to defend inside and block shots. .that's moreso like a Greg Brown type..

Agreed. Another Grant with a few more dunking highlights is not what the C's need.

Moses Wright is 3 inches taller than Grant and his wingspan is also 3 inches longer. Much better rim protector, better shooter, better passer, quicker, more athletic, better rebounder, better finisher at the rim. It's really not even a comparison.

I feel like a much closer comparison for Wright is Garuba. Many on here were drooling over Garuba when we thought we'd have the 16th pick. garuba is projected to go in the 15-20 range. They're very similar players. Garuba's main advantages are being 3 years younger so bigger window to develop/improve and better perimeter defender. Those are 2 big advantages so obviously Garuba is the better prospect. But Garuba won't be available at 45....Wright will be. Wright also appears to be possibly a slightly better passer and shooter than Garuba, Wright is 1 inch taller (although garuba has 1 inch longer wingspan)..and while Garuba has more of a window to develop being 3 yrs younger, the Celtics want to win now so they might rather take the guy (Wright) who is older and thus more of a finished product, less raw.

Yes, it is in that they are both probably best suited as small-ball 5s of a mode that the C's don't really need--or have the minutes to develop them at.

And don't get carried away with Moses Wright's shooting stats. His 4yr college 3pt average is .230. Yes, he had a better average at the 3 this season, but that was on just 29 attempts in 25 games. His highest-yet FT%, in again his 4th year of college, was .658. A little more length and athleticism is what gets him more and better dunks. Neither is an exceptional rebounder for a big and Moses's passing showed at a 4-year college average of 1 assist per game. Maybe most importantly they are both limited perimeter defenders.

Wright is only 3 weeks younger than Grant, and though he's got a size advantage he doesn't have at least Grant's 2 years of NBA and experience for a team that needs more vets, as opposed to more low-ceiling rooks.

No similarity to Grant's game.

As I mentioned before, there's some posters over in the NBA Draft forum on realgm who really sound like they know their stuff and sound more knowledgeable than people who publish mocks on sites like CBS Sports, Heavy, NBC Sports, Tankathon, Bleacher Report, etc because all of these mainstream sites are all just regurgitating the same rankings basically with some minor tweaking.

One of them just posted their updated top 25 big board:

1.Jalen Green
2.Evan Mobley
3.Keon Johnson
4.Josh Giddey
5.Cade Cunningham
6.Jared Butler
7.Jaden Springer
8.Isaiah Jackson
9.Corey Kispert
10.Sharife Cooper
11.Kai Jones
12.DJ Carton
13.Terrance Shannon Jr.
14.Miles Mcbride
15.Jonathan Kuminga
16.Daishen Nix
17.Jaylen Suggs
18.Roko Prkracin
19.Cam Thomas
20.Greg Brown
21. Isaiah Livers
22.NahShon Hyland
23.Vrenz Bleijenbergh
24.Isaiah Todd
25.Josh Christopher

Now, if we remove the guys who have no chance in hell of still being available at 45, this is what his list then looks like this:

1. DJ Carton
2. Terrance Shannon Jr.
3. Daishen Nix
4. Greg Brown
5. Isaiah Livers
6. Nah'Shon Hyland
7. Vrenz Bleijenbergh
8. Isaiah Todd

Brown, Nix and Todd are like a 50/50 on whether they'll still be there at 45. Vrenz/Hyland might go earlier but more than likely will still be available at 45. Carton, Shannon and Livers is basically a guarantee they will still be there.

3 other sleepers who seem like they have high upside:
Joe Wieskamp = making noise at the combine with his 42" vertical and 6'11" wingspan. He shot 46% from 3, is a highlight reel dunker and good perimeter defender

Moses Wright = making some noise at the combine

Santi Aldama = big time sleeper. Not getting love in mock drafts and big boards but the dude could seriously be a top 20 prospect in this draft. Projects as more of a stretch 5 but could play some stretch 4. Looks similar to Roko except 2 inches taller and 2 years older

Wieskamp, Wright and Aldama, looks like they will all still be on the board. Queta is another guy I like and he'll likely be there at 45 but I doubt we pick a center since we basically just drafted a center by trading for Moses Brown.

In other words, there's a damn good chance we could land a top 25 prospect in this draft with the 45th pick.

I'm actually surprised how low Todd is going in some recent mocks. 5 recent mocks I just saw he went 30th, 46th, 52nd, 46th and 71st. I'd be very happy if we grabbed him at 45. At the combine he measured with a 7'1" wingspan and also one of the things that was considered a weakness before was lack of strength but at the combine he clocked at 219 lbs. compared to 210. during the season so he's added some weight which is good.

Also looking like Brown might be gone. I'm seeing quite a few recent mocks where he goes in the late 1st round.

That list from the draft forum is BS. Cunningham is going #1, guaranteed. And where is Usman Garuba?

I told Ainge to draft Isaiah Stewart but he didn't listen. Now I'm telling the world that any GM drafting 6 through 60 who misses on Garuba will (barring an unforeseen injury) deeply regret it. You heard it here first.

The list is simply that one guy's opinion of how he ranks them as NBA prospects.

We all know Cunningham is going no. 1. This guy is simply saying that in his opinion those other 4 guys will have better NBA careers than Cunningham. I actually like that he goes against the grain a little, has some unconventional picks and doesn't simply regurgitate the same rankings we see on every other site.

There's some people who aren't that high on Garuba because they think he is very limited offensively in terms of driving, ball handling, making moves with the ball, creating his own shot, finishing inside, shooting, etc. Garuba is projected in the 15-20 range, some mocks I've seen even have him going in the 20-23 range so someone not having him in their top 25 isn't that crazy.

All I really take from it is the fact that those 8 guys who he has in his top 25 who have a good chance of still being available at pick 45, those are potentially sleepers, 8 guys who could turn out to be the steal of the draft. Most of those 8 I have already checked out quite a bit and I'm gonna check out the others soon..

I think we have established roles in the NBA that are consistently importatnt.

Obviously every championship team has their core top tier star players.

Then I think we also look for switchable wings, stretch bigs, and rim defenders.

Another really important piece is the scoring skilled ball-handling guard. There have been a few examples during this current playoff run but watching last night it came into focus for me watching the play of Cameron Payne.

Looking at the scope of draft talent, I really think we could fill this role with #45.

I think it's a role that gets lost in the mix and I really hope that we can see the value in it because I think there are going to be good ones available to us.

Pritchard kinda fits that role, but he does have trouble beating his man at the point of attack. I think we need additional player who can better challenge defenses in half court sets by forcing rotations.

Simple solution is bringing over Yam Madar from Israel, our 2nd round pick last year.

These clips are all from the same game, not even highlights from a whole season.

Madar makes quick decisions with the basketball, surveying the floor and very quickly as soon as he gets the ball he either passes, shoots or attacks off the dribble - quick and decisive. The play at :44 mark where Madar breaks his man down off the dribble, does a little shake and bake, spin move and leans in for the shot is a play Pritchard could only dream of making. At 1:14 mark, another play Pritchard can't make. When have you ever seen Pritchard with the ball up top, runs a PnR, reads the defense perfectly so he dribbles into the lane and hits a smooth pull-up jumper? 2:54 mark, Madar goes iso on his man from the wing, blows by him off the bounce and makes a nifty finish with left hand. 3:07 mark, his teammate sets a screen, the defense switches on the screen, Madar does a little shake and bake move to create plenty of space to then nail the jumper from the elbow - smooth. At 3:20 mark, again, they run same play where a big sets a screen for Madar in order to get the defense to switch so that Madar now has a bigger/slower guy defending him. This time the big doesn't even really set a screen - he simply comes over towards Madar like he's going to set a screen - which gets the defense to switch - then the big rolls towards the basket. Now that Madar has his desired matchup, he drives, gets into the lane, does a nifty spin move and then hits a smooth, 1 handed floater in the lane - man, he really made it look easy scoring on that play!

I think you bring Madar over and with our 2nd round pick we go with either a wing with really good size who can shoot and switch on defense or a stretch 4.

Ball handling? Garuba has some of the best handles I've seen on a 19 year-old 6-9 player.

Yes, Aldama looks like an intriguing sleeper pick for sure.

I'm not sure about his lateral quickness / ability to defend perimeter and switch onto smaller/quicker wings but i think the upside/potential is there..

I like his quickness off the ground. It's like soon as the ball hits his hands, he is up for a dunk already. Really quick off the ground.
I also like his steals and blocks per game at about 1.5 and 1.6 per game. His outside shot looks good too. Doesn't have much of an in between game but then again, if he did he would be in the first round with his size and athletic ability.

I like his quickness off the ground. It's like soon as the ball hits his hands, he is up for a dunk already. Really quick off the ground.

Yup. Good size. Good shooting, good rim protection, good passing. He's built strong, athletic. Good defender. Good motor.

We could do much worse with the 45th pick than Moses Wright IMO.

And hey, we could play 2 guys named Moses at the same time :)
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)
