nimmo has a career ops of .840, that's higher than lindor's career.

nimo has an ops of .862 since 2018.

nimmo is not a 4th outfielder and it's a god damn joke that met fans continue treating him as such, you can make the argument that nimmo is their best offensive player.

nimmo in only 80 plate appearances has a +0.9 war.

pillar in only 127 plate appearances has a +0.2 war.

pillar is a fun player, overrated now because he took a ball to the face but he's a 4th outfielder, ya know the mediocre players -- nimmo is not mediocre.

huh?

you do know the past 3 years nimmo has been a top 10 offensive outfielder, right?

he's not a 4th outfielder and i'm gonna say it now, the moment he's back pillar and his .680 ops becomes the 4th outfielder.

Sure when he plays.

the debate isn't whether hes good. its whether he can actually play 150 games a year which even when he was starting (he was actually platooning basically) he still couldn't stay healthy.

yeah nimmo is 100% playing almost everyday when he's back. He's too valuable in the leadoff spot. The good thing is now the mets have depth. So Pillar can spell Nimmo/Conforto/Dom. And be a defensive replacement late in games. Pillar still is a sub .700 OPS guy so he is a 4th OF.

You also have McKinney who has proven to be a really nice bat.

Dom finally hit last night, but if he didn't pick it up I would seriously consider giving more at bats to McKinney at this point.

DeGrom leaves a start early AGAIN…this time shoulder soreness

It’s all for naught if DeGrom is injured

they're 10 games over .500 yet the loser mentality still lingers.

it sucks but nope, it's not all for naught.

I saw a tweet a with Edwin Diaz’s spin rates from yesterday’s inning and they looked a lot lower than his season averages. He might be another one to keep an eye on.

Mets got McNeil back, with Nimmo and Conforto hopefully close.

Get a few guys back, but it looks like Gsellman, Familia, and Villar are all injured now, lol.

The intern whose job it is to update the Mets’ active roster on their website is in for a busy summer…

Stroman pulled after 1+ innings due to injury. Let me guess, hamstring?

Edit: No, it's hip pain which would suggest a form of sciatica? That could be 2-3 weeks, or longer, if true.

Nice job by Megill last night. Both he and Eickhoff get another start.

Cory Oswalt was good too.

Gotta go game by game. Sandy has to be looking for more troops as we head into July, August, and September.

the mets probably have the best bullpen in the league and if u gave them an average bullpen I think this team is legit 5 games under 500 this year.

this next offseason I would bet on a ton of trades, the team could use some serious re-shuffling of players in the outfield and 2b/3b.

What do you have in mind?

Also, Carrasco due back in early August and Thor in September.

Even with the DH coming, I really think some combination of McNeil, Dom Smith, JD Davis will be traded. Likely JD because he is by far the least versatile defender of the three and assuming he comes back and doesnt play garbage defense (which he always has) he should be able to be moved since hes still cheap and is a decent bat. He has value as a DH but we need an OFer, and since he's still under team control there should be a guy we can find whose in a similar position but is an OFer we can swap with.

I also would not be surprised at all if we offer Syndergaard the QO, he accepts, and we trade him in the middle of next year irrespective of our standing.

I would probably tell McNeil at the end of the season to prepare to be a 3b for the team next year.

the team has really gotten awful production from the outfield and it must be addressed somehow in the offseason.

I agree about JD. Pete will handle the majority of the DH-ing with Dom at 1B. I'm not a fan of McNeil at 3B. But he’s playing like crap right now so whatever.

We’ll see how Noah does when he comes back. Some pitchers come back better.

Do you bring Conforto back?
