I mean you think wolves will have another season with covid problems and injury issues and suspensions along with a coaching change? Not likely 2022 will be a middling pick , not too low not too high. Probably 11-12 in what looks like a weak draft.[/quote]

You're missing my point, neeva. The #7 Pick in this weak draft does not have the trade value of our 2022 Unprotected FRP. Sure, that pick could end up in the teens but it could also be in the Lottery with a chance of being Top 3. Also, after the top 4 players, the 2021 Draft is considered one of the weakest in the last 20 years and the 2022 Draft is supposed to have plenty of high-end talent that will be bolstered by HS players that can now go straight to the NBA.

Wiggins and #7 for Russell? Rosas won that trade if Dlo can just stay healthy and he also saved all of our sanity by not having to watch another second of Wiggins in a Wolves uniform.

Juzang?

Juzang is exactly the type of kid you take a chance on if he slips in the Draft. He was incredible in the NCAA tourney and I have no idea why isn't projected to go higher in the Draft. Nice call, AIJ.

I'm happy we don't have to watch Wiggins any more but DLo also puts my sanity at risk when I see his horrendous defense.

There's no denying how frustrating Russell can be at times...no doubt. When he returned from his injury last season, Russell was very good for us and a difference-maker in most of the games he played in. Can he retain his health and the productivity that he showed at the end of last season? A guy can certainly hope...

Isaiah Todd if we sneak into back of first, top of second is my first target.

Petrusev could be a nice depth 4, maybe Sims or Brown depending on how their proday/workout numbers look.

Sharpe, Garza, Cockburn, Badji for centers

What has more trade value…#7 in 2021 or a 2022 Unprotected FRP?

I’m going with the latter all day long. Rosas has plenty of ammo to make something happen. After watching Ant’s interview before the lottery, I’m not so sure Rubio will even be made available barring a blockbuster.

That might be REALITY when all is said and done, but when assessing trade value (as ST clearly was) the PERCEPTION is what's most important. And frankly, while some national media are starting to say we'll be improved, I think the perception among teams will be that we're crap until we aren't. So I'd actually argue that teams could still hold an unprotected '22 (or '22 protections that could improve in possible '23 double draft) in higher regard than the '21 No. 7.

Maybe this is one of those rare trades where both fanbases are happy?

That's the best outcome in my opinion. Russell wasn't a fit in Golden State so having Wiggins as 4th option with defined role probably great for them and if it's Wiggins and Franz Wagner for DLo, I'm good with it.

Not all wolves fans are happy. DLO has been **** for the past year and a half. The only way I will be happy is if the warriors have to send 7 to unload Wiggins for someone that then plays awful for them and DLo has another “breakout”and healthy season.

For now, yeah. Still a lot up in the air that could swing it either way.

I like both of the Champagnie brothers. In fact, I like them more than 1/2 the projected first rounders.

1. We win a top 3 pick.

I don't mind having our pick next season in a possibly stacked draft, I also never felt like we would retain this pick so if we do it will be a big pleasant surprise. Would love to see the Warriors get a pick like 7 and use it on a player who doesn't amount to much.

It stings less not giving GS #4 or #5.

Same. This is insanity that some are still upset and want rosas gone. Has dlo underwhelmed? Yea. He comes here and gets hurt. Then Karl hurts his wrist, then Covid, then Karl hurts his wrist again the third game in, then dlo gets hurt when Karl comes back. Then they win games they’re not supposed to at the end of the year with Karl ant and dlo all together for once.

Let’s see how the come out of the gates this year. The odds of finding any sort of difference maker at #7 in a 4 player draft is much higher than keeping Wiggins around and hoping that “this is the year” he breaks out.

The last 17 months since dlo has arrived have been anything but normal.

There's no doubt Minnesota gave up a lot in this trade. Let's not downplay losing the 36th pick either. Russell end up costing a lot. That being said if the goal of every NBA trade is to get the best player then I think Russell will still be the best player in the trade. I don't see Wiggins improving off last year, and I don't see anyone getting drafted at 7 or 36 being an all-star. GS got a haul, but I still think Russell remains the best player in that trade.

Amen. You guys speak the truth and use common sense to back it up. "Common sense" seems to be lacking around her for some posters lately. Is Russell worth a Max deal? Heck no...but nobody here has ever tried to make that claim. Is Russell a better player/fit for the Wolves than Wiggins? Yes...and it's not even debatable. It's like some people intentionally forget just how horrible Wiggins is in order to help fit their narrative and support their complaints.

Is having our 2022 Unprotected FRP instead of #7 in the crappy Draft of 2021 better for the team? Of course it is...and to state otherwise is ignorant, dismissive and argumentative all in an effort to hate on Rosas. Gerson could've gotten better protections on our 2021 FRP but does it really matter? We're still better off with the Unprotected 2022 FRP and the trade value that comes with it than #7 in 2021. Rosas has shown a very acute eye for evaluating young players and that's the #1 attribute I want from our GM.
