I'm already on record saying that Cade/Mobley are 1A/1B... but I think Troy goes with the consensus. Elite Bigs are rare, but so are 6'8 2-way wings that can run the team and close out a game with jumpshots.

At the end of the day, you can get 60% of Mobley's production from a cheaper big. A wing that can run the team and control the clock is more valuable.

I'll also say that I dont think the Hayes/Cade duo is a problem. They both can catch & shoot. Kyrie played with both Lebron & KD.

And if things go sour, you just trade Killian. Killian can fight for his right to party, as Troy already said. Its Cade's team now.

Keys to the MotorCade:

1. Surround him with shooters that defend.
New - Trey Murphy/Kessler Edwards
Old - Saddiq, Frank Jackson

2. Provide a vertical lob threat that can also shoot.
New - Charles Bassey/Santi Aldama
Old - Isaiah Stewart

3. Provide Slashers and Cutters.
New - Trey Murphy III
Old - Josh Jackson, Hamidou Diallo, Sekou, Frank Jackson

4. Provide playmaking IQ/Help.
New - na
Old - Hayes, Plumlee, Saben, Hami

Draft Picks in Order of Importance:
1 Cade
2 Trey Murphy III/Kessler Edwards/Bones Hyland
3 Charles Bassey/Santi Aldama

2021 Lineup
Hayes/Saben/Hami
Cade/Frank/Hami
Saddiq/Josh/Trey
Grant/Sekou
Stew/Bassey/Plumlee
You need 2-way wings, 2-way shooting bigs, and you can't allow low iq players on the court. Assist/turnover ratio is crucial. Shooting point guards are icing on the cake IF they are plus defenders.
Weaver & Casey, govern yourselves accordingly!

If Usman Garuba falls into the late 1st, that's who I hope we target in a trade up.

I really hope this is the route that Weaver takes. This draft is really deep. We can add depth with second rounders that are fighting for their NBA careers. These players could be available. Tankathon’s mock has Bassey undrafted, crazy. Petrusev is another guy I like in the second that should be available.

Avoid free agency and trades and roll with who we got and see what we have. Evaluate this team and see if it could work. 2022 we make major moves.

Things I would do, sign Frank Jackson. He’s a perfect fit with Cade, he’s going to thrive. Sign Saben Lee at low cost. Bye bye Cojo, Ellington, Mcgruder, Smith Jr. Let Diallo walk or sign him to a bloated 1 year deal. Let Josh Jackson’s deal expire. Trade Sekou and Plumlee after the season. In 2022 attack free agency and trades knowing what you got and what you need.

I agree, I think Troy is going to roll with what he’s got.

Personally I like Hami and Josh Jackson... I think they fit the team, because really those are the only 2 guys that consistently can get all the way to the rim off both the dribble and the cut. You need that to balance the floor because Cade & Killian are both more dance & turn type drivers than super-athletic drivers.

You still need that element on the floor, especially in the playoffs. I think there is a major role for Hami’s athleticism and for Josh in the 2nd unit as a scorer off the bench.

I’m going to check out Petrusev a little more. I say keep the young guys, add more good draft picks, and let everyone fight for their right to party next year.

The East is wide open. Milwaukee’s coach is suspect. Philly is suspect all around. Can’t wait to see Killian and Cade feast on Trae Young the next few years. Killians defense alone is worth keeping him next to Cade.

Yea I agree you do need that athletic slasher type. I could be wrong about Diallo. I just think in today’s NBA you gotta be able to hit the open catch and shoot jumper too and he was not good at that. I think we’ll fill that roll in free agency in 2022 and Josh Jackson can fill it for now. It would be better if Diallo could fill it but I have my doubts.

Usman is rated too high to fall low enough
Petrusev is too good a shooter, don't think he'll fall to low.
Neemas Queta looks about to rise to lottery level. His passing is ridiculous, and he's shooting the 3 ball in the combine.

I hope Bassey is the one that falls to the Pistons. Hes the best rebounder and finisher out of all of them, and can shoot the 3 also. His passing is horrible though, so he'll probably be around at 42
