I think it's Atkinson for us.

That's how I'm reading it. Hammon could also end up in Portland.

Port - Billups or Hammon
Dal - Kidd
Wash - Unseld Jr
Pels - Charles Lee
Orl - Atkinson, Kidd, or Vanterpool

With Hammon potentially to the Blazers and Kidd potentially to the Mavs, I agree that it looks like Atkinson or Vanterpool for Orlando.

He was the one big name I wanted absolutely nothing at all to do with.

Okay, I’m pretty comfortable now. No guarantee our hire works out but at least it’s a fresh start.

Phew, Kidd to Dallas would be a huge relief once it becomes official.

Its a little curious that so positions are filling up, but we have barely been linked to anyone. Wonder if we are waiting for someone to get eliminated (chauncy, atkinson, hamm, green, lee?)

Its not really linked but it was thrown out that our franchise would prefer a coach who had a HC experience before thats why you heard a lot of Kidd and Atkinson talk intensifying.

props to the Mavs for thinking outside the box. Getting that Nike Exec seems to be a very favorable move amongst most national basketball minds on social media. Nico seems to have a great relationship with EVERYONE. Nice pull.

First of all, Becky Hammon is going to be a HC somewhere and she is well respected in the league. She was a player, even though it is WNBA, but she played the game and she was a PG. That means, she was a floor general running the offense and defense.

Atkinson had one good season at Nets and everyone thinking he is going to turn this franchise around just like the Nets.
I am not buying that.

I think people are more intrigued by him due to his development of nets young players
You saw D'lo improve alot under him, same with Joe Harris, spencer Dinwiddie and Caris Lavert. Rondae Hollis Jefferson too

I dont know how much influence he has with the clippers, but you see one of their younger guys developing nicely this year, Terrance Mann

I dont know if hes a great coach (record says no), but he does seem like a great coach as far as player development goes, which is pretty important on a team that will likely have 6 first-or-second year players on the roster next year

If the Magic want to make a splash in their coaching search I’m throwing my name out there. And I’ll even do it for a small salary of $100k. Save the franchise some cash to try a recovery loss revenue from Covid and I get court side seats. It’s really a win win for everyone.

Nets players are thankful to Atkinson for his development-first mindset. It was under Atkinson that D’Angelo Russell became a first-time All-Star, Spencer Dinwiddie became a Most Improved Player candidate, Joe Harris became more than just a shooter, and Caris LeVert’s potential began to unlock.

“Kenny’s my guy. He was great and like I told him in a text, I said, I needed to be able to be in a situation and an environment where I could make mistakes and that was critical to my development and he afforded me that opportunity,” he said. “Believing you’re a great player is one thing, but being able to go out there and not look over your shoulder and think that you’re gonna come out if you miss a shot or turn it over is paramount in anybody’s development, any NBA player. That was huge for me and I’ll always appreciate it.”

this is why I want Atkinson. He had a good thing going in BK before Kyrie showed up and is rumored to be the one that got Kenny fired.

I was told mickey mouse himself will come over to coach this team.
No serious, it seems to me orlando will be capable of choosing between some left overs ...

Whoever we hire we will fire in 3 years so might as well be you . Ask at least for $200K and a $1M bonus if you get to coach the all-star game.

No love for Brett Brown? Former head coach, did well thru the process. Has his flaws but got Philly respectable.

But then we'd have to find a way to trade Fultz....I'm sure we can find someone else

They actually had/have a good relationship. If hired, I'd imagine there would be no issues and Kelle would do well.
