nice. I'm a big fan of the trap bar deadlift. I think it's safer and basically as effective, especially for functional training like a hoops player. Glad to see he's already back at it.

I'll go ahead and make a sig bet that Mikal is better by RPM this year than Zach.

He trains Beal and has trained iggy.

No to iggy but yes to Beal. I would preferred him to go trained wade.

Edit scrolled more he trained Jimmy at some point

If the Bulls do, you would be complaining to much to ever hear it.

NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

He has a lot to do with his body and his game so he should be back at it, but yes it is good to see he is taking that initiative instead of not taking it seriously.

Love our hex trap. But I don’t understand why he is using so many bumper plates. Seems unnecessary

Well, Pat, it’s basically all up to you now.

He is definitely a worker and it's good to see, but I hope he doesn't get too big. I mean, he already has a solid frame, but I prefer him to have less bulk and work on his explosiveness. I love that he has a strong base/legs though, which you need as a basketball player, more so than a big upper body.
Why so serious?

Videos and posts you want to see next:
- Working on quicker release
- Pounding multiple basketballs working on that handle
- Watching film
- Growing 2” before our eyes

Number one priority is ball handling, at least from my point of view.

His lateral quickness is what I want to see along with ball handling. Strengthening his lower body and core though are crucial too. The impact the lower body takes in the NBA is no joke.

+100. He really should be focusing on lateral quickness, which seems to fly in the face of leg bulk.

that particular lift actually does a very good job working the hamstrings as well. over focusing on the front squad and leg extensions can cause a quad/hamstring inbalance.

That Ben Bruno guy seems to be pretty well known and has worked with other NBA players in addition to other athletes and actors and stuff. I don't think this is Lauri out there trying to turn himself into Ivan Drago. I'm sure this is one part of the workout he's putting Pat through and that the exercise is tied to specific functions and goals.

Everytime there's a clip of someone lifting weights this board turns into experts on form and routine.

Yeah, and while I'm no expert, and expect most NBA players do that exercise - I'd rather see him practicing dribbling with guys swiping at the ball (Heck, I'd rather see him chasing chickens a la Rocky).

Aren't Bulls fans much more qualified to comment on weight training than actual, real-life trainers?

Extra weight is also an enemy for the ability to jump multiple time high during the game. Like Booker jumping 25" and ball leaving from 9ft and 8 inch on game 1 against Clippers on 3 pointer.

Are you trying to suggest that some stupid trainer that million dollar athletes trust their career with know more about training than RealGM posters? That’s absurd! Simply absurd, how dare you blaspheme?

Lets not lose sight of how accurate YouTube and social media doctors and physical therapists were about his injuries this season. Poor deformed kid hardly played at all. Quadrophenia.
