He has a lot to do with his body and his game so he should be back at it, but yes it is good to see he is taking that initiative instead of not taking it seriously.

Aren't Bulls fans much more qualified to comment on weight training than actual, real-life trainers?

that particular lift actually does a very good job working the hamstrings as well. over focusing on the front squad and leg extensions can cause a quad/hamstring inbalance.
