Cubes passed on Ring, which Shaq of all people saw the potential in and invested in it. Cubes has done nothing in the last decade to get the pass he gets. He is a very overrated person who makes lots of questionable decisions.

When did James Dolan buy the Mavs?

people are mocking this but if this guy's connections enable them to throw ridiculous amounts of money at Luka, entice others to join him and keep Luka in DAL, it'll be worth it. And I think that's the only logical explanation for this

Makes me believe Jason Kidd will be making the personnel decisions, and Niko will be there to keep the ship straight.

Does this guy wield influence within Nike, and if so, at what point does the NBA start looking into conflicts of interest?

Cuban sold an internet radio company that was losing millions of dollars a month to yahoo for 5.7 billion at the height of the dotcom bubble. He could be a complete genius for that move or he could be a below-average businessman who got extremely lucky once.

Conflicts of interest aren't a concern for the rich and well connected.

Bringing in Nico and Kidd (if that happens) might help the team recruit more free agents (long-running team issue).

Not sure Kidd is a great coach (though he has huge BBIQ), but players around the league respect him and seem to like him. And players apparently like Nico as well.

Maybe this can work out, and Cuban/Bob are on the right path?

We'll see.
