I'm fairly certain that Farley had enough blow in him that night to kill a komodo dragon.

I love the union now - it's one of my favorite places in Madison for a happy hour, or weekend daytime drink, etc. Haven't been around much lately on weekends to go for the evening music, but would love to do that too. Definitely utilize it more in my 30s than I did in my teens and early 20s.

I went to the Union significantly more during my MBA than during undergrad.

I tend to say the Union is overrated, touristy, etc, but each time I go there on a warm night I realize how wrong that statement is. Guess the problem I have is with the general public. There's just so many of them and I find their odors and opinions at odds with my refined ways.

Same, same and same. Good to know I'm not the only one.

Whatever, it was way more fun to have a **** burger for lunch at UNION SOUTH than Memorial Union (and I'm taking about the one that was torn down in like 2009).

Hot take: Union South was garbage. Used it only for bowling a few times.

I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Yeah, I know. That was a joke. I was there in the swan song years of Union South. I think got lunch there a handful of times when I had classes near it and maybe bowled once.
I think there is a new Union South, no?

Yeah, I still get to Madison pretty often as my parents still live in Fitchburg and obviously I pass through/go to some games. I hadn't been in it much/for a while, but the pictures online jogged my memory and yes, it is quite nice.

The pep rallies there before football games are great - so much nicer than they used to be. People are just nostalgic for what once was. I mean, I get it, but it's objectively better than it used to be.

New US is pretty nice. Always go there for the band before games. Weird not having Leckrone there anymore.

I bowled there some. Usually on some sort of "enhancer".
Good times.
Edit: I see I wasn't alone.

Was only there for the new US and loved it. The Sett was a really cool place to grab dinner/lunch and watch a game.

I've thought of moving to Madison because of how much I loved it when I went to school there. How creepy would it be for a 60y.o. to be at the Rathskeller?
of course, I might not be able to adjust to the snow.

I hit the Union pretty much every time we’re on State Street in Madison. Kids love it. There’s room to stretch out. Grab some ice cream and a burger. View is unbeatable. Make them run up bascom hill afterward.
Game day (football) I never leave regent. Rocky’s lot ftw.

Regent has gotten crazy since I left school. I miss Jingles/Stadium Bar on Monroe post-game.
Speaking of Jingles, they once had dime taps/$1 pitchers for 30 minutes on the first Friday after winter break. Talk about a madhouse. It was like Attica in there.
At a party given by a billionaire, Kurt Vonnegut informs Joseph Heller that their host had made more money in a single day than Heller had earned from his novel Catch-22.
Heller responds, “Yes, but I have something he will never have — ENOUGH.”

Re: Wisconsin Badgers Thread
Didn’t red shed used to have 10 cent or quarter taps for a minute to kick off happy hour?
Wandos had the quarter cans of old style/blatz/schlitz/ or whatever with free deep fried bacon on Thursday (?) nights. That was always crazy.
Brothers (where I worked) had 10 cent wings and 5 dollar buckets of high life on Wednesday. Also a solid value.
And of course, $2 pitcher for FAC at the original Madhatters and Brothers. That’s where I met my wife.
