Opinions on him ?
Probably not an option after trading the draft pick in the Kemba/Horford deal.

Slight edge for Phoenix, then LAC, Atlanta and lastly the Bucks. I have the Bucks in last choice because I have a good friend who would be way too annoying to deal with if they won it..

Actually if we look ahead and want to be a player in 2022 FA it would be smarter to stay put, no long term contracts.
Smart/prichard/*
Nesmith/langford/Edwards
Brown/**
Tatum/Parker/Williams
Timelord/Horford/Moses
** TT trade for also expiring SF
* sign one veteran combo guard for minimum
I'm more than ok with a 14 deep team like this.
Smart/prichard/*
Nesmith/langford/Edwards
Brown/**

Timelord/Horford/Moses

Absolutely. Give Udoka a season to assess what's really here. Continue to develop all our young talent. Implement a system and re-establish culture. Maybe one or both of Nesmith and/or Langford jump up and seize that wing role next to the Jay's. Won't you be happy that you didn't spend money on it and now you can use it elsewhere. Love Fournier and if he'd be willing to sign for just 2 years only, count me in. Otherwise, I'm good. Spend this season learning how to maximize the young guys we have here and then figure out what we need to add to that after. Gives us also a full season to assess Smart as the primary ballhandler for this team in that role.

Re: Official Celtics 2021 Post/Off-Season Thread
I watched this scouting video on Langford again just to kinda reset where we are on him by looking at how he was viewed 2 years ago. His injury story is obviously well-known and not worth discussing but after 2 seasons with no real training camp, Summer League or practices I see a lot of what I saw in this video in him. He was a bit maddening down the stretch with just how ineffective he was on offense. Though he finished strong in the last 2 games against Brooklyn. The defense has 100% come as advertised. But I still think the player this guy is talking about is still in there somewhere waiting to get unlocked. The question is, do we have time to uncover him? Re-signing a player like Fournier reduces the need to wait on Langford's development but is the financial cost worth it?

That is what I keep wondering myself. I love what Fournier can bring on offense. but signing him "may" hold back Romeo's development. *If Ime believes Romeo can step up a level, then we may not need to sign Fournier. But that is a big If to this point. And God forbid there is another injury.

Is Brad going to decide on re-signing EF based on Udoka's take on Langford?

I would think and hope A GM and coach get together and make a group type of decision because there isn't a clear cut decision to make.

When is the last time a Celtics player was held back because there were too many good players in front of him? I can recall zero instances of this.

Considering Brad has coached Romeo since he was drafted, I don't really see him leaning heavily on Udoka's take on him from afar.

Re: Official Celtics 2021 Post/Off-Season Thread
Before I catch up on the posts. Both Stevens and Udoka have different view points, Stevens recruits and signs, Udoka coaches and develops. They're gonna disagree but they'll also have common ground. Stevens, as the predecessor, has to stay off Udokas turf.
As Fournier. I wouldn't sign him. He's one dimensional and we have Nesmith and Langford. If we need Fournier, then get a much cheaper version.
Edit and use the money on athletic shooters with size who can defend and rebound. Pls don't spend what it takes to get Fournier on Fournier.
BTW someone mentioned Boucher in Toronto. That'd be a good get IMO if we deal with Toronto. He's as skinny as can be but he'd be great off the ball defensively, runs really well and can shoot. Let's target size pls.

Would love to see Giannis get a ring after deciding to stay in Milwaukee.

Dwight Powell on 2016 Celtics with all the moving pieces.
PJ Dozier for sure on the 2018 team. Nader as well. Statically they didn’t look good but both had basically no development time outside of garbage time for 1 year.
To an extent, Theis when Horford and Baynes were here
And of course billups and joe Johnson going way back

That's just terrible management choosing someone like Semi Ojeleye over PJ Dozier. Nader could have been retained, why not? Same with Billups and Joe Johnson. That's just bad management. They would have been fine if the GM weren't braindead and needed to trade them to make way for worse players. An NBA team has almost 20,000 minutes to give to the roster in a full season, I find it hard to believe any team is so stacked that they can't play a player worth playing.

I don't have high hopes for Romeo. Kid flashes, but idk how bad he wants it. There's times where he looks lost and just checked out

Jaylen was clearly held back with the inferior AB and Crowder ahead of him. Nesmith, Langford, Pritchard and Williams have been held back as well. NOT being held back is the exception like with Tatum

With Smart out there, you can’t really have another 3&D player who can’t shoot.
