Giannis’ free throw routine was definitely streamlined if even just a little bit last night and (knock on wood) looked pretty nice.

It would hilarious if Atlanta inadvertently improved Giannis’ free throw shooting all because they felt the need to complain about his routine.

Was he walking with no shoes on? That wouldn't help.

Ok so I was curious and looked up the lineup numbers. Obviously small sample size, but...

Jrue-Khris-PJ-Giannis-Brook: 89.0 DRTG (far and away the best defensive lineup in the playoffs with minimum 50+ min, by a full 9 point per 100)

Jrue-Donte-Khris-Giannis-Brook: 77.9 DRTG (     )

I honestly think if they bring the intensity they had yesterday but you also add Donte, that's a GOAT level defense

Do we know what’s wrong with Donte?

Did they perform the Simmons Amputation?

Ya, the revisionist history on Giannis is baffling. He has been amazing. Take away his 3 point attempts and he is nearly flawless. But remember, just a few games ago there were posters proposing Giannis trades, because they said he was so dumb.

I was at the game tonight. My impressions:

1) Crowd-Sitting directly behind me was Jim Paschke and Dave Babcock, longtime Bucks scout. They were in the first row of the suite and I was in the last row of the lower deck. I tried talking to Babcock and he was very friendly, but it was so loud I couldn't understand a word he said. Great crowd.

2) Lots of people around me flew in from Atlanta. They were counting on Giannis's free throws and Giannis shot them before they reached ten.

3) Bud was roundly booed during introductions. First time I've ever heard that. Knowledgeable crowd.

Bucks have too much talent and experience for this series to go far, so if Bud keeps the pressure up rather than the passive drop scheme, we'll be all right.

If you boo the coach before game 2 of the CONFERENCE FINALS, you're a jackass.
It happened game 6 vs Nets. Prove people wrong and they will go away. Bud is still on the hot seat.

I wasn't one of the people who booed (it was really loud and even somewhat embarrassing), because I'm too old for that. Plus Paschke and other Bucks brass were literally sitting right behind me and it would have been crass.

Cool. So a percentage of the fans attending are jackasses. I suppose I could've guessed that anyway.

Of course Bud should be booed. He sucks. If it weren't for PJ/Jrue I bet we'd still be playing the drop scheme exclusively.

This isn't just a national media obsession, but one dominating social media as well, and it's damning in a few ways. Exposing both the fixation on memes over real content, the deep biases against small-markets, and the weird cultural issues surrounding foreign born (English as a second language) black folks. I see guys like Giannis, Siakam, Maker, Ibaka, and Embiid get a very particular kind of ****, and it raises an eyebrow.

I think you're right on the money here with the media's proven bias against small markets. I don't think it's a coincidence that since Giannis resigned, the national media has completely turned on him. Him staying here deprived them of two things-1. A season of intrigue surrounding where he would play-robbing the media of tons of stories and attention about his decision, and 2. Yet another superstar in a major market, so they'll have to grudgingly visit fly-over country to cover arguably the East's most powerful force for the next half decade (at least).

The older I get, the more I realize how little these "experts" for ESPN, NBC, etc. even know about teams or the game anymore, so who gives a rip about what they have to say?

If we ignore that Bud played a completely different scheme in Atlanta, and that we started using different schemes in the playoffs last year, then sure, this could be a narrative.

The older I get, the more a realize that the next coach is going to be annoying just like the present coach. You need to weigh the pros and cons. Kidd had no pros.

The NBA doesn't have a great coach right now, but there's plenty worse than Bud. Is Bud stubborn? Heck yeah, but most decent ones are.

Bud is starting to prove me wrong. His in game adjustments are coming late sometimes, but he is adjusting between games, and winning. I'm starting to have a little faith in Bud. Plus he has to do the best with what he has.
