Re: Coaching search
Coaches the Magic have interviewed or are rumored to have interest in that are still available.
Head Coach Experience
-Kenny Atkinson
-Terry Stotts
Assistant Experience Only
-Wes Unseld Jr.
-Becky Hammon
-Willie Green
-Charles Lee
Coaches the Magic expressed interest/interviewed no longer on the market
-Jason Kidd (hired by Dallas)
-Ime Udoka (hired by Boston)
Worth noting that Atkinson, Green and Lee are all still coaching in the playoffs and likely wouldn’t accept any offers until their teams were eliminated from the playoffs (although that does not appear to have stopped Billups in Portland).

Anybody but Terry Stotts from that list and I'm good.

Becky Bonner's role with the team could also make her more comfortable here. It shows the front office favors talent in any form for the betterment of the team.
Sorry who?? Becky Bonner??
Shes our director of player personnel and came with high praise from the nba offices.
Becky's role with the Magic has flown under the radar, but she's highly respected and has done a great job. I know that she and TRoss used to always play a shooting game when they were in the gym together. She's been in Orlando for quite some time now. Her role with the Magic could certainly help the head coaching position become more appealing for Becky.
I still wonder if Pop would advise Becky to steer clear of Orlando.

While Hammon wasn't a true head coach she filled in for popovich when he got ejected in the 2nd quarter

With Billups to the Blazers, I think Hammon must again be on Orlando's long-list.

Why would Popovich think the Magic is a bad position for Hammon? As PBO Weltman is quoted as stating, "there are more candidates than positions." In that, all 30 head coaching jobs are good jobs.
For the Magic, this is not the dumpster fire of the Thunder, Pistons, or Rockets. Indeed Orlando is more in the Kings, Bulls, Raptors, and Spurs range of mediocrity roster wise.

I dont think its be Becky Hammon. I think its going to be somebody out of left field that nobody is talking about.

Re: Coaching search
Out of all the hires so far, the only one I would have been interested in for us is Billups. Carlisle is a great coach, but we're not the place for him right now. I'm guessing we're not very high on candidates wish lists right now compared to other jobs, but there are still some really solid choices out there. If this isn't done within a week, I will wonder what's going on. Only hangup will be is if our top choice is still coaching in the playoffs.

Chauncey is going to Portland for their vacancy.

I think it’s Atkinson, Vanterpool or Hammond for us, but I won’t be surprised if a guy like Charles Lee gets it, or someone nobody is talking about at all in the media. I smell a Bo Outlaw hire out of nowhere.
You look confused...let me fill you in.

To be fair, JV once used his film session to watch giraffe documentaries with the young players in the midst of a 12 game losing streak. 2.5 years may have been charitable.
(Your point is valid, I just wanted an excuse to bring up the giraffe thing again).

LOL It's all good. I was also thinking of that video session thing. Was he really channeling his inner Phil Jackson ZEN thing?

lol, fair point. Not saying JV did a bang up job here, he didnt. I think Pop just see's the revolving door that has been the Orlando Magic and might question it for another of his assistants.

Ok cool. Don't have twitter so blocking off players means she don't want to talk to our guys anymore? That's kinda unprofessional but that's me.

Don’t take my word for it. That’s just my take if true. Or she blocked them because she is the coach and wants to keep things professional. I don’t know.

She's not blocking players if she's blocked anyone. "Magic twitter" are fans, probably annoying fans at that, spamming memes.
