Not a huge Kuminga guy but it's a big deal if he hurts that jumper around. He does already have an nba body and could really surprise people with a J.

jvsimonetti0514 wrote:You might be right cuz Thibs himself said we were looking at wings. It's kinda tough to ask some rookie guard to come in and take over the starting job unless they're elite out of the gate. Quick wasn't elite but he was clearly much better than Payton and Thibs refused to start him. So even if we did grab Cooper or Butler there's no chance that Thibs would even consider him for that starting job. My guess is we look for a combo guard and a wing to replace Bullocks and Burks. Tre mann and Duarate kinda fit for those same roles.

Kinda expect them to go minimum contract hunting for next season's back up big too. Noel's definitely not coming back here since he's never really had a pay day yet in his career. Still wild that he turned down a chance for generational money like that with Dallas. Maybe if we do keep our first three picks they'll draft a big but there's usually there's a pretty steep learning curve for them. I wonder how much patience Thibs would have for someone like Jackson cuz he's so raw and skinny. Robin Lopez I think could fill the Noel role and not break the bank.

Plus there's also the Vildoza factor

I know we all kinda write him off cause it's not super likely he'll do much more than be a backup for us, but it's clear the FO wants him to at least compete for minutes next year, so assuming we bring Rose back, having Rose, Vildoza, Quickley, and another guard off the bench trying to compete for minutes when our current backup at SF is Knox (unless we bring back both Bullock and Burks, which is not a great idea for using cap space effectively). So unless it's a guy like Bouknight who's tall enough not to be a total mismatch at backup SF, I don't know about us going guard early

But, I'm also pretty sure we don't stay at 19, 21, and 32. FO would probably rather consolidate for a better quality player than have multiple shots with lower accuracy picks.

No lift on his jumper and his staggered feet is just weird.

Yeah it looks bad. And his lift around the hoop looks bad too.

Did you decide on ish with the thinking that if he can't develop a jumper it will limit his passing? By all accounts he has great vision.

Yeah I'm low on Sharife... I usually love high IQ guards but I can't rely on that broken and off balance jumper fixing itself enough for him at his size to succeed. You can point to his Free Throws rate and I get it but no one in the league is going to foul this guy. There's no reason to. Go under every screen and force him to shoot or dare him to finish inside. Late 1st flier... Fine I get it..projecting more than that and you're asking for too much IMO. Maybe it works but I think he just has too much going against him to be more than a backup at the next level. Hope I'm wrong though because he's a wizard as a decision maker. Fun player just not sure how it translates.

I’d rather use this/these pick/s in a trade fit a player we already know will be of help now than drafting a flawed player who needs a lot of development in one or more particular areas. We see what we’re dealing with re RJ in terms of what it takes to develop in this league.

Draft day trades:
21st & Kevin Knox to NOP for Eric Bledsoe & 10th
19th & 32nd to WSH for 15th

At first it’s a NOPE to his contract, but FA sucks this year and it’s a 2 year deal to draft Bouknight. Best case Bledsoe can play off the bench and raise his value to be trade bait. Certainly good enough to be a nice scorer off the bench. And NOP def wants to get rid of him so they can get Zion help and free up a guard spot.

10th pick: James Bouknight
15th pick: Corey Kispert

Then sign Dennis Schroder a 2 year deal / 36m player opt.

Dennis Schröder — Eric Bledsoe
James Bouknight — Immanuel Quickley
R.J. Barrett — Corey Kispert
Julius Randle — Obi Toppin
Mitchell Robinson — Nerlens Noel

Sure we don’t have our PG locked up but we have 2 veterans to lead this young group until we can trade some of them for Mitchell or another star guard wants out.

Bouknight and Kispert would be HUGE for our scoring issues.
