Imagine if Troy Weaver goes full Thunder and takes Kuminga?

EDIT: Obviously that's a trade down with someone but LOL

How that's a trade down? Kuminga probably picked in the 5-7 range.

He's saying if Weaver takes him for Detroit. Kuminga at 1 would be quite the shocker.

Thought this was good insight into a little bit of Presti's draft philosophy.

Someone on the draft board made a Rondae Hollis Jefferson como for Barnes and now I can't get that out of my mind when considering him.

RHJ isn’t a facilitator though

It's within the range of outcomes. But if you look at the low end likely comp for every player this is what you always end up with.
Cade could be Evan turner
Mobley could be tyrus Thomas
Suggs could be Corey Joseph
Etc
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

I sort of wonder how much he'll actually get a chance to use that strength though. And if he doesn't get to use/develop what he's good at on offense, the RHJ comparison starts to seem more likely.

Now, that said, he could end up like Joe Ingles if he becomes a solid shooter.

Every pick has a certain level of bust. I think he can be much better than Ingles if he becomes a solid shooter.

It feels like it’s becoming a top 6 draft with 4 tiers…
1-Cade
2-Green/Mobley
3-Suggs
3 or 4-Barnes
4-Kuminga

Hearing Chad Ford refer to Shai as Shy makes me wonder if my opinions on the draft aren’t more informed than I thought relative to some of the experts.

It's starting to be more and more obvious that TV guys hate watching basketball. How many years of ROberson did we get?

Better than Robertson .

And honestly am feeling a lot better about the draft. Not sure who I like yet but think they come out with a few solid players possibly and expect a trade, can't see taking 6 guys.

There’s a certain stage of the draft that somehow Barnes join Kuminga in a separate tier from the rest of the 6-10 pax. Do you guys know which interview or event trigger that ?

This has been a 5 man draft at the top since the start with Kuminga locked at 5 and the way I see it now there’s a small chance (non zero but still not significant) that Suggs could be 6. And this is before banking on teams doing a Cavs and picking someone out of nowhere.

In short , if it’s cost marginal prices I’m ok to move from 6 to maybe 4. I’m more interested to move up from 16/18 to 10ish or maybe get another pick around 12 .

I think Clarkson is his floor. I see some Jamal
Murray in his game honestly

I think #6 is probably too high but I would love him at #16 or maybe a little higher if we package 16/18. He's obviously a big time bucket getter but I could see him leveraging that scoring ability down the road to make plays for others. I like his quick acceleration and we could use that tbh. Not many speedsters in the guard spot for OKC right now.

Yeap , doesn’t seems solid enough for 6 but unlikely to last to 16

Vecenie has him at 7. I think pick 10 is about as low as you could reasonably go and still get him
