You believe Quick is the better prospect. Good for you. That's irrelevant because right now, RJ is the better asset because other people view him as better, and we'd have a better chance at trading for a 3rd star using him than anyone else on the roster. It also wouldn't be RJ for Dame straight up, we'd have to add more, probably at least one of Quick or Mitch
If you're making a move for Dame, you can't wait. His contract and Randle's basically mean we'd need to act before next offseason. So you should only trade RJ for him if you already have a deal for a 3rd guy completely done, or trade RJ for that 3rd guy. But trading RJ for Dame with no plan beyond that is not smart.
I'll settle this argument. We could offer IQ and RJ BOTH and Portland hangs up laughing.
