Here’s what I’ve heard on Penny Hardaway/Magic job …

Interview took place this weekend. Magic officials went into it expecting it to be more of a formality/courtesy. It went MUCH longer than they thought it would. Hardaway obviously impressed them, and here we are.

Im not sure about Penny as a head coach but any coach will be a wild card. It will be a cool story if he succeeds

Ill say this AGAIN. HIS SON JAYDEN HARDAWAY is a redshirt junior heading into this upcoming season. I WOULD BE EXTREMELY SCHOCKED, If he takes the Orlando Magic job while his son is still on the Memphis Tigers basketball roster.

So My assumption is Penny is interviewing now for the job for LATER when his son graduates/ leaves college. My assumption is Penny stays at Memphis until his son is finished from there. If the Magic hire someone for the head coaching job right now that's not Penny Hardaway, They will fire that head coach and than they will hire PENNY when his son finishes out either this year or next at Memphis.

College coaches most important skills: developing young players and building relationships with stars (recruiting).
