Hollinger speculating that Golden State could target Siakim centred around a deal of Wiseman & the 7th pick.

The issue is the salary match;
Its has to be Siakam for Wiggins and whatever picks and prospects are coming along with him.

Yep for sure, Wiggins would most likely need to be included as well.

I get that Love has negative value. The whole point is to see if we can land two of the top 4 picks.
Yeah I had similar suggestion earlier with Siakam + 2023 FRP for Love + #3. I'm fine throwing in Boucher in there and even the 2 SRPs if it nets us the #3 pick, but I won't include Fred as well.
Speaking of bad contracts, Wall and Gordon are pretty bad contracts for Houston. Another angle is if we can pry the #2 pick from them by taking their bad contracts and giving assets since their owner is notoriously cheap and in debt.
All that said, I think there's a higher chance we use our #4 to trade up instead.
I hear you though, 2 top 4 picks would be a dream.
Did you post it on the trade board? Would be interested in hearing what non-Raptor fans think in terms of value. FVV isn't a make or break for me honestly, but I agree the Raps won't trade him. He's basically team captain now.
It was one of the Raptors threads, it wasn’t on the general board. My guess is Cavs/Rockets fans will say no to trading away their high pick for Siakam especially when they are still rebuilding. That’s why I think it’s more realistic that if we really want a guy we might trade up.
Previous trade ups using 2017 and 2018 drafts as measures takes a FRP to move up a couple of spots. Obviously depends on the trading partner but I would love if we did that to take Green.
Another crazy idea I had posted before was if there’s a chance to use Siakam and Boucher to net 7, 14 and Wiseman from GSW. Then use part of that to get the #5 pick from Orlando. Kuminga is quite raw and his shooting is bad, but he already looks better than Pascal when he first came into the NBA. So I have faith our team can develop him into a better player.

I am surprised to see this many fans so high on Siakam, have you guys not been watch raps basketball for the last 2 seasons? Siakam is heading towards negative value and its happening at a rapid pace. If you can get a top 10 pick and a decent rotation player you take that and run.

Here's my guess - Raps are trying to get a bidding war going for Siakam. Ideally, Pistons - who feel they are ready to compete - come through with the #1. They don't seem particularly enamored of Cade, the Jalens, or even Mobley.
This would also explain why Pascal got so much playing time while Raps were clearly tanking. He was being showcased.

Siakam just isn't a number one option. He still has a lot of value. People value picks too highly especially given the uncertainty of the player you take. It's a process. #7 wouldn't get it done and we'd have to take back a bad contract in Wiggins to make it work.

Re: 2020-21 Season: Draft, Trades, and FA Ideas Thread V2
if we can do something like
Siakam, 2 seconds, jalen harris
for
Wiseman 7or14 wiggins
That would be very interesting.... its a gamble because Siakam is the best player in the trade... but that 7/14 is either the highest or second highest that MU has ever picked and he could take a stab at a star or grab a role player
then pay whatever to bring lowry back for three years
Wiseman/ Sign birch
OG / Boucher
Wiggins/ Trent
FVV / Suggs
Lowry / Flynn
with that 7 or 14 dont really need anything tonnes of wing and guard depth, if we can bring back birch we are solid at C
could take a swing at someone like Kai Jones to keep pressure on Wiseman could get a perfect proven do everything two way player like Wagner, could take a swing at someone like Ziaire Williams....
that 7 could even be Barnes, Kuminga, Mitchell (if lowry not coming back)
If Suggs looks ready this year Lowry can take a tonne of time off and still play important basketball and contend while taking on a mentor role to a potential stud in Suggs
Siakam, 2 seconds, jalen harris
for
Wiseman 7or14 wiggins

I would think it'd be Siakam, 2 seconds, Harris for Wiseman, 7 AND 14, Wiggins. And as much as I like prime Siakim, I'd have to go with that deal.

Yeah...
I think I likely do that.
Which is why I don't have that much confidence that GS would.

Draft Mobley and Sign Lonzo Ball
Draft Suggs and Sign Holmes.
I think Ball will likely command near max salary;
Even if you clear all the NGs off the books and move Boucher for draft capital and no inbound salary you may find it challenging to fit Ball under the cap.
Holmes may be attainable with our potential cap space but I have concerns about what the annual number would be.
He will be 28 on opening day and committing to lets say 4/60 may not be the best investment even though I think he is a perfect fit.
Idk about near max for Ball.

I am with you; I think that Dejounte Murray 4/64 is about the top of the mark for me and that was the number being kicked around when teams were negotiating extensions at the deadline for three year players which didn't seem to interest Ball.
It just seems that the starting point for a lot of these projections for this offseason is Malcolm Brogdon 4/85;
As they say, it just takes one team.

Yup, I agree with you Morris. I like Ball and I think he can be good but Murray-ish money is what I'd be willing to pay. Ball is solid but he hasn't shown to be a max level player.
If someone else wants to pay, be my guess but it shouldn't be us.

Why are you guys so inclined to add Harris? I know we didn't see him play a lot, but the dude is young, has composure, and seems so in control of everything he does out there, he looked like a skilled vet.
I think the only way the Raptors would even consider this would be Siakam for Wiseman, 7, 14, and Wiggins.
Which is essentially pick 14 balancing out Wiggins deal (which is filler to make $$$ work), and Wiseman + 7 for Siakam.

He was a 2-way, yeah? Is it a 2 year deal like most 2nd rounders? Is he a FA, UFA or RFA? Cap space to resign him?
It was surprisingly complicated to find an answer to that question;
This was the best I found:

Good stuff. Thank you for your efforts Morris_Shatford! Definitely more info than I found. Was kind of hoping he could be used as a little sweetener in a deal, but it doesn't look like that's possible. Do we think he showed out well enough at the end of the season to earn more than his QO?
