Golden State is over. They have the 7th pick in a six player draft, they'll peddle it and Wiggins/Wiseman but won't be able to right the ship. They need to act fast before the league realizes they're dead in the water.

1. Curry to PHI for Simmons - Sixers make a title run
2. Klay for Porzingis. Two big contracts who may never recover, swap risk, Klay is an ideal fit in DAL if healthy.
3. Dray for Myles Turner.
4. Wiseman/Wiggins/7 for Beal.
5. Re-up Oubre.

Simmons/Beal/Oubre/KP/Turner

Elite size and length, Simmons/Turner are defensive pillars, Simmons gets great spacing while he works on his shot, KP gets fed as a true second option.

Depending on what they pay Oubre - or if they let him walk to fill out the roster - they could drop back under the luxury tax.

Not a reliable source, but.. in one move, the Pelicans decimate their future to keep Zion happy:

https://www.inquisitr.com/6493238/nba-rumors-pelicans-willing-to-trade-brandon-ingram-for-damian-l

In a Twitter post, Brandon "Scoop B" Robinson of Bally Sports revealed that the Pelicans have expressed willingness to sacrifice Brandon Ingram and multiple first-round picks to acquire Lillard from the Trail Blazers.

"New Orleans Pelicans are willing to part ways with Brandon Ingram in hopes of getting Damian Lillard, I’m told," Robinson said in his tweet. "Pels are also willing to part ways with multiple first round picks that they acquired in the Anthony Davis and Jrue Holiday deals."

nah, i don't think they blow it up yet. curry is still in cheat mode, no way you trade the best shooter in the L for the worst. dray is still dray. if klay comes back and is klay, they are right back in the hunt. wiggins is exposed as a 2nd option but as a 3rd he's a good fit. wiseman will get better, people were dissing on ayton but look at him now, bigs just take a bit of time. plus they will add a #7 pick. i've seen too many "it's an N person draft" turn out to have some really good players at N+1 (jaylen). they will get a good player, and if they pick well, they are beautifully set up to contend while bringing along their youth.

the west is more wide open than in recent memory. is anyone scared of the lakers or clippers anymore? the suns are one cp3 injury away from being good but not great. the W's have a legit chance next year, no way they should cash in.

Timberwolves should try
D'Lo, Antman and picks for Dame and CJ with CJ going to a 3rd team

Ingram will almost certainly never be as good as Lillard. Lillard and Zion is an elite duo; scary what Zion could do if he were on a team with a player like Lillard. Pelicans should trade their entire roster for him if they're being serious. But so should basically any team. That's not a 'keep Zion happy' trade, that's a 'improve the roster significantly' move.

Ingram is 23 - he has plenty of ceiling left. Even if he doesn’t reach Lillard’s level, he’s the better player two years from now, when Dame’s older and the Pelicans are stuck with him.

The point is that it’s bold, decisive and unexpected. Curry is going to be a free agent and he’s getting older. Sending him to an actual contender to wind down his prime is generous. And plausible. GS reloads while their players still have value.

LOL, as the wiretap says, the dubs are going to attempt to use Wiseman and one or both of their first round picks to get immediate help for Curry. I would be shocked if they trade for Simmons.

I don't think that's true. Lillard two years from now is still younger than Curry right now. Lillard is going to age wonderfully, his game keeps moving farther and farther from the basket and his shot is absurd from everywhere. Just because Kemba sucks now doesn't mean a significantly better guard in Lillard will suck in two years. Lillard would be the best player the Celtics have employed since Kevin Garnett.

Paul George and the Clips playing their asses off. The POs are a great reminder of the wisdom of structured, balanced teams. Clips went small and big, ferocious man and zone, up tempo transition and set plays. Contributions from experienced vets and from up and comers. Cousins Morris, Jackson Mann all played great great. No Leonard, no Zubac, no biggie - game 6 at home. Great game. Oh and Ty Lue got them all to buy in on the game plan. Outstanding win on the road.

Every team is flawed in some way. It is up to mgmt to assemble the best well structured team possible including planning for ontingencies to compete for these moments. The Celtics failed miserably. Hopefully mgmt sees it too and acts accordingly this season. Depth and balance, and the belief in one another will go a long way.

Clippers have shown incredible resiliency since the first round. Won two games in Dallas after being down 0-2, then won another tough road game in Game 6. Then they came back from 25 down to eliminate the Jazz. So I guess we shouldn't be that surprised that they're still playing with so much confidence even after Kawhi went down (they could've been up 3-2 on the Suns had they caught some breaks).

There is no way in hell the Warriors trade Curry, unless he specifically says he wants out. That’s not happening ever. He will retire a warrior. Trading Curry is a frachise suicide. That will set them back a decade or more.

Question is, would Kawhi be able to come back at all? Reggie Jackson was awesome.

Ty Lue deserves credit. I thought he was living off Lebron, but he’s for real.
