Love that he's confident but he's on the wrong side of history right now.

If we make it because of our kids then I'll be orgasmic but I can't name enough Eastern Conference teams we'll be better than, at least right now

It'll take the youth making unexpectedly large leaps for us to actually be a viable playoff threat.

I think we're still gonna try though. And I don't think they'll mind ending up with a lower lottery pick next year either.

I really do believe the active tanking is done- they'll try to build a culture now. You can take steps towards that even without reaching the playoffs.

I think we tool "culture building" steps this season too though.

I think several players were targeted because of that culture building exercise tbh

Might actually be a Weaver trait.

In the East you can argue Orlando will be worse than us next season BUT not only are they adding picks 5 & 8 they also get back Isaac & Fultz.

Cavs add #3, also apparently trying to deal Sexton for win now help too

Raps should be better back at home and by adding #4. Also might get something back by dealing Lowry.

Hard to predict how Chicago will go but surely didn't acquire Vuc to be a Lotto team, especially with Markkanen and Lavine due or soon to be due more money.

Even assuming we're better than all the teams I just named we'll finish 11th in the East.

Out West I expect:

Houston to still be tanking but every other team should be more competitive next season.

There are some who believe SGA being healthy puts the Thunder well above where they finished. Plus they added Kemba for Horford.

Minnesota is expecting internal growth and their record since the All Star break suggests they're right.

Kings are like Chicago - hard to predict but Fox + Haliburton + #9 = hope.

That said it wouldn't surprise me if we're better than the Kings, Thunder and Rockets.

So that means we're better than 7 other teams in the league!

Maybe I'm pessimistic?

I'd say the looking at the East, you probably need to add more teams that could fall apart.

Indiana/Washington/Charlotte could go either way, Miami - are they on the rise or decline? NYK exposed in the playoffs, coach tends to be a team burner outer.

Bulls still a mess, Raptors losing Lowry, Siakim may be a problem, lost Powell, gonna be worse

Cleveland/Orlando are just bad organizations, I don't expect either team to finish ahead of the Pistons.

So that is 9 teams I think the Pistons could bump in the East, if things break right.

I like isaiah jackson of kentucky. He would give us athleticism, shot blocking, versatility, rebounding and defense

Jackson is right handed but blocks at lot of shots with his left

He's a no brainer pick if he falls to our second rounder. Would be a great 3rd string center who could eventually be a backup for Stewart.

I think he more likely ends up going in the 16 to 20 range.

Really like JT Thor. Started watching film on him today. Thon Maker with an IQ. Just my perspective so far. Haven't seen any offensive film yet. I imagine it won't be pretty.

Some guys on this list could go mid to late 1st, and some might be there in the 2nd:

Kia Jones is the guy I think we should target if he falls to the 20's. He looks like Christian Wood 2.0 without the negative character. Maybe package Josh Jackson or something to move up as well.
