I've posted about Alperen before, but this is the guy who should be our focus in the 2nd round.

He won't be available in the 2nd rd, he is expected to go as high as possible late lottery.

Yeah, just saw a recent NBA.com consensus mock that had him at 14. If he’s our focus for R2, we’re in trouble.

Looks like a guy who has great footwork and passing, but didn't see if he has the ability to do anything away from the basket. Sorta looks like an undersized Thad-like C. Not too excited.

Another player I like. tough minded guard that plays defense and can shoot three's.

This is a deep draft in terms of depth, hopefully the Bulls can acquire a second pick in round 2.

Sungun probably walks into the league with one of the most diverse and skilled low post repertoires we have seen in years. I don't know how good he is gonna be on defense or shooting, but he'll put you through the laundromat on the block.

McClung just doesn't really do that much. Needs to be a PG but he lacks actual PG skills, 2.2 APG in college. Career 31% shooter from three and is horrible at the rim even though he jumps out of the gym. I guess if he really gets a an elite 3 point shot he can be a decent bench combo guard... I dunno.

He had some bonkers high school highlights though.

I think Mac is working with the guy who helped Lavine with his jumper . His jumpshot looks good in the updated vids

Yeah McClung seems like a poor man's Connaughton.

I know I previously mentioned Luke Garza, but it sounds like a different Hawkeye was turning heads at the combine: https://www.blackheartgoldpants.com/2021/6/28/22553375/iowa-hawkeyes-basketball-shine-in-nba-combine-joe-wieskamp-luka-garza-fran-mccaffery-bhgp

Wieskamp measured 6'7" with shoes and a 6'11" wing span. 42" max vert, and 10.7 second lane shuttle time. Both top 5 measures from the combine.

Wieskamp also scored 26 points and had 10 rebounds in the scrimmage game at the combine going 6/7 from 3. One of the drafts best shooters and some good measurables. Shot 46% from 3 on 5 attempts a game last season in college.

According to the article, Garzas also dropped 22 pounds, beat Evan Mobley in the lane agility workout, and was drilling corner 3 after corner 3.

What’s the deal with Duane Washington? I remember watching him in March and thinking he seemed to thrive in the spotlight. He was putting up big shots the same way Cade was, but he isn’t getting any of the recognition.

He looked good at the elite camp. had good stats in the scrimmage (not spectacular, but really solid).

He doesn’t seem ranked anywhere that I’ve seen, but that might be because he declared late and might still go back to school.

Washington Jr. would be a good off the bench scorer. He is an undersized 2 guard that has combo guard abilities. Not a liability on defense, but not great. Very streaky, but can get hot in a hurry. Can pass alright, solid handles. Personally, like Weiscamp for Iowa more and hate AWOI. Weiscamp plays hard, is quiet, can shoot, plays within flow of offense, and is 6'7ish. I think a lot of players from Big 10 in second round will be solid players at next level.

1) Aaron Henry - my fav. - great defender, can handle the ball and pass, streaky shot.
2) Livers - I probably would not draft, but would sign if he is a free agent only because he can't stay healthy. However, very good shooter, okay athlete, and smart.
3) Garza - think he will be a steal in 2nd round just because he is so skilled offensively and hustles. Imagine a taller Tyler Hansbrough that can shoot - just a bad defender.
4) Weiscamp - think he will be a solid player. While his athletic measurements show is a good athlete, he is okay in terms of fluidity of it. But he is no slouch, can rebound, elite shooter, plays within system, and is okay defensively.
5) Washington Jr. - streaky but can get instant O quickly. Is a solid defender and can pass.

Why is Weiskamp so bad at shooting free throws? Pretty unusual for a guy that excels at shooting.

I’m hoping we can get him as an undrafted free agent. Don’t think he’s worth a top 40 pick, but I like his fit next to Vuc. Reminds me of a poor mans Brandon Clarke.

I mean this year was way worse than the other 2, but he only shot 3 times and got off to a rough start on shooting them. However, if you take away a few 1-3 games, he was a good shooter.
