Why for Dallas? They move a player who seemingly doesn't want to be there and bring back a proven veteran in Barnes who can play the 3 and 4. The team also brings in a respectable Center who is dynamic offensively.
Why for Detroit? They pick up a mid-lottery pick and take a look at KP, hoping he can get healthy and also get Marvin Bagley who is in need of scenery change.
Why for Sacramento? Upgrade Barnes to Grant (Its an upgrade, right?) and get a dynamic back-up Point Guard who can play on and off ball.
Only focusing on the Detroit part. Porzingis goes against what I want Detroit to do, but I like the idea of trying to rehab his value and we get a 2nd lottery pick for our trouble. Also get to take a one year flier on bagley.
Considering the bulk of our roster would be on rookie deals for the length of his contract, it makes an interesting risk vs reward move.
You’d have porzingis/Stewart/Bey/Hayes/let’s say Cade with the best shooting wing or combo forward at 9
Its an interesting core.
