Mark me down on the side of not wanting to trade for Stan Van Gundy. The guy would have a heart attack if he tried to play any NBA minutes.

I don't think this fits into cap space.

Randle/Mitch/RJ/IQ/OBI/Noah/Luca/Pelle =49M + Knox = 55M + FRPs pick (5M) = 60M payrol (10 players). We would have around 52M in cap space.
If we keep Bullock (5,5M Cap Hold) and Rose (9,5M - MLE salary), we get around 37M in cap space.

I think we can get Lowry (25M) and Hart (12M). But we can not get Holmes who is asking 20M (I believe that he signs for 15M).

I think it will be hard to shred Knox's salary. Maybe we could offer some SRPs to OKC to get it.

We have a Room MLE (5M). We could offer to Bullock or Noel. But I believe they can get a bigger pay somewhere else.

this would be a truly wretched offseason

so we up our long term contracts Hart, Holmes, and don't add a RFA/UFA star we can have bird rights to so that when we resign RJ/Randle we don't need to worry about capspace?

stupid ass offseason.

we need to trade for a RFA/UFA star either this offseason or next. there's no other way around this because we will have to give RJ the RFA max in '23 and resign randle in '22.

I appreciate a good cap conversation.

We could probably add one long-term contract for about $15 mil this year and fill the rest of the roster with 1-year deals. That should leave them enough to extend Randle this year and chase a Max FA in 2022. After that, they could extend Mitch in 2022 and it would just be a matter of money to extend RJ in 2023. Another smart move would be to have this year's long-term FA deal be for 3 years because that would give the org money to either keep the 2021 FA or extend Toppin or IQ depending on who is the best fit.

I expect us to improve this year and if managed right, potentially contenders for a good 3-4 season window. To do it I don't expect them to keep a lot of the team favs unless they take a 1 year deal again and we're not going big name hunting this FA either.

I like them but still needs a real sniper/bucket getter/get-your-own shot guy.

I agree. I would try to resign Burks, but I like everything else you put up there.

I would be really disappointed with this roster. I would rather the Knicks push for Collin Sexton instead of this. I feel with his age and our roster they could develop and keep us competitive for a long time. He would be much cheaper then cashing it all out for Dame. Don’t get me wrong Dame is amazing. I’m not feeling cashing in our assets for Dame and Randle. It’s not enough, we need a big three and a strong bench

I think a more realistic range is 75~100 mil.

I think his potential is high considering his history of improving and work ethic. I would trade for him and see how much he improves before hooking him up with a contract. Still I am high on him

Guys like Schroder, Powell, etc. are not really move the needle guys. They are final finishing touches if you already have a big 3 (or at minumum ridiculous big 2) on your team already.
