Paul George played well in certain games when Kawhi went down but the reason why Clippers' series were so long these playoffs was because he kept underperforming.

kawhi, as great as he is, ain't built to play 40+ mins every other day on playoff intensity. If they just had time off between series maybe Kawhi recovers enough to stay healthy.

If he were to sign with another team,, He will immediately become the most hated player in the league, after making us dump 5 draft picks and quitting in the middle of playoffs when we had a legit chance to win a title.

nothing but worry and expectations
these were the best playoffs though, for obvious reasons

no expectations
it was liberating

What Reggie did was absolutely amazing. He was the 2nd best player on a team that went to game 6 of conference finals. Lou would not have done that. But that doesn't change the fact that it was a terrible trade. "Playoff Rondo" sucked so bad he has been completely out of rotation,, and we gave up two 2nd rounders for him.

I don't think he's leaving, but yeah it wold be a bad move. The clippers are giving him everything he wants, plus more.

yah I said this after we knocked off Utah

the Clippers [and PG] [and TY] showed Kawhi enough that it's not a lost cause here

leaving now would be a punk move

I'm not a GM. I don't pretend to be one. I don't know what would be available. Games like these just worry me a lot because PG is so inconsistent and always capable of having a clunker like this at the worst possible time. I don't want the Kawhi era to be another "what if" story like Lob City.

I think if we examine the salary and options, it's tougher to make this team better trading Paul George than keeping him.

Like mentioned, Lillard is an option, but there are different holes to fix, but it's a different approach, maybe better, maybe not.

There aren't really any other stars that are options who would be better and no combination of players who are acquireable I can think of that would give the same impact, let alone be better.

Of course if something comes up and the Clippers see an opportunity to get better by treating him, do it, but actively looking to do so would be a bad decision.

Leave it there. Chris is speaking well of the Clipper fans in the arena right now. Finally healthy. I forgive him. He was not going to win a title with Blake and DJ eating up all the salcap. And he was a complete assh*le to them anyway.

At age 36, he's finally got hi shi*t together as a captain and leader. I wish him luck.

And I'll tell you what--Kawhi and PG were complete assh*les last year too. They learned something this year too.

He clearly proved what most of us knew. It wasn't him that was failing those Clipper teams, it was Doc.

Maybe. With Kawhi out playoff record is 6-6 against Mavs and Jazz. Without Kawhi it's 4-4 against Jazz and Suns.

ATL posters talk about this a lot, Lou had a great game the other night so basically that's it for the rest of the series, etc.

To be fair you guys kinda tampered and stole him from the raptors so I’m pretty sure most would think it’s funny if he bailed on u. Kinda like karma or whatever…

I really want him to stay, but if he actually decides to leave then in retrospect I want nothing further to do with him.

Why are you here? I don't understand posters like you. What purpose are you trying to accomplish? Is it the board's fault for what happened in free agency?

Clippers lost last year and lost this year . It's been 2 years. Come on man, let your pettiness go.

Still don’t understand why people doubt the trade. Rondo just shouldn’t of been the guy

Yeah, it was a bad trade. I thought it would pay off somewhat, but rondo is cooked. We should have asked more for lou if we're going to trade an expiring contract.

We needed POINTS. Lou might have come through. In limited duty with the ATL--not the whole thing on his back--he is shooting 46%/48%. We will never know. I did not disagree with the trade but Rondo was not the man he was and Lou was not respected enough for what he did for us THIS YEAR let alone all the others.

Yes, he was mostly a playoff "failure" here, but that was only because the others failed worse and HE took the shots. Lou instead of Rondo might have got us through this.

1. Number one priority is of course Kawhi, he will probably be a cipher until a decision is announced.
2. Does the cap allow us to make a reasonable offer to Reggie? Everyone was impressed, but it's not like he's getting a 4/$100M deal from someone.
3. We can trade our draft pick on draft day, if there is a good trade to be made.
4. I really like Zu, but he's also our best trade asset and if Serge is healthy he can tandem with another big if we continue to small ball more. OTOH Zu is on a pretty cheap deal and we need contracts like his to fill out our roster.
5. That Kennard contract is rough. I think the trade was good, but man oh man if only contract negotiations had dragged on for a couple of months into the season for us to get a good look at him first...
6. FWIW, Rondo is now an expiring.
7. For PG haters, I guess he did improve his standing this postseason. Pretty sure there's no trade coming though.
