peZt in the last post has explained it very well
The lines drawn on the image, clearly show that Sengun is about an inch or so taller than Ilyasova, who the NBA measured at 6'8" without shoes on. And you can also see that Ilyasova is closer to the camera, which would make him appear taller in comparison to Sengun than he actually is.
Being closer to the camera makes you look bigger, and being further from the camera makes you look smaller. Both Sengun and Ilyasova appear to be standing slightly hunched, so it's about the same that way. So based on a picture from just a couple days ago, Sengun is probably around at least 6-9 without shoes on, and that might be a bit conservative.
And once again, shoulder height appearance can be largely influence based on your posture. And again, Ilyasova is closer to the camera. So by being closer to the camera, it makes his shoulders appear bigger by comparison.
I mean Ersan is a PF all his career and a undersized 5 of the bench when he has been playing late in his career great shooter btw and athletic too when he was young, He played a lot at the 5 because he was really good at taking charges still was a liability on defense and so limited to play at that position. He was a 6'9 in Europe but I think if was a story like with this kid when sometimes he was a 6'7 or others a 6'10 I don't talk about his age because everyone know that lol. Still I think this kid is a 6'9 with shoes he is not tallest than Ersan. The only you can't see it is if those guys are on tiptoes or not
