But, rape shield law applies even in civil suits, so you have "Jane Doe" whose past activities cannot generally be considered.
And yet you've made your mind up regarding the anonymous "nutjob" accuser.
To be fair, the context did allude to the idea that she appeared to be nutjob based on the filings, i.e. was speculated by others/the media/whatever at that time as having issues, not that that was his specific analysis.
Thanks, Manocad. That's pretty-much right.
I couldn't find all the documents online that I could many years ago, and I don't know to what extent they were true back then. There was one detail the recent coverage reminded me of. Antoine Walker, her sometimes-boyfriend, was right there and invited to the gang bang, but he declined. However, Jane Doe testified that Walker should've simply KNOWN she was being raped, even though she was conscious and participating, and explicitly never told Walker she was being raped. Really? That's nutjob territory to me, even if I go all #MeToo and "Believe Women".
I could certainly be biased. Decades ago, I stumbled into a bad scene and helped save some random woman from further sexual assault. She was traumatized and scared, but that certainly didn't stop her from telling me that badness was going down, if her ripped clothing and general demeanor didn't make it obvious enough. So, I expect people being actively assaulted to communicate that in the moment to people who could help them. (For the record, I got her away from "chasing dude" to the cops, left business cards if I needed to testify, but was never called back.)
But, I hope we can get back to basketball. I hope Chauncey does well, except against the Pistons.
