Don't want him for Ben, but I still maintain that Tobias for CJ would be a heist for us. Ridiculous shot creating talent. Shoots 3's on high volume at a high clip and has advanced metrics that promote him being a very noticeable on court presence.

Career on/offs look more like Devin Booker's or Bradley Beal's than Demar Derozan's or Zach Lavine's. Grades out extremely well in RPM centric stats as well. Would currently be our second best player.

CJ McCollum has averaged 28.1 points, 6.2 assists and 5.0 rebounds in 33 games without Damian Lillard in his career.

Injury concerns would be my biggest worry about CJ. Also you'd need a lengthier backcourt partner for him that steals the defensive matchups like Klay did for Steph, but his skill is undeniable

CJ is a better shooter and better at defense. Had to eavesdrop on your board because I couldn't believe after all the "CJ is bad at defense and old" folks seemed to like Brogdon. Just made no sense.
Ummm Brogdon is a much better defender.

Sometimes you need the eye test. CJ is one of the worst defenders in the NBA. Brogdon at worst is an average defender.

Not sure if it's been posted yet - so forgive me for being redundant -

NYPost.com has an article about the fact that Ben Simmons just bought a $17.5 Million mansion in LA next to the Kardashians.

Told ya'll.

I'll take, "Told Ya'll Mofos!" for $1,600, Alex.... DAILY DOUBLE.

Okay, so the drive from his home to Sacramento won't be too bad.

Delon Wright and De'Aaron Fox can room with me until they settle in and find out where they're going to live.

This is exactly how I feel about it.

Or he can get in his private plane and fly home from
Minnesota.

Hopefully these rumors of being sent to NBA Siberia light a fire under his @ss to finally improve.
Don't count on it. Even if he wants to improve, he has like 3 months to potentially overhaul his form, unlearn bad muscle memory/habits, and build confidence in a his new shot/form. Obviously, this process should've started years ago. Next best time is now, but even if he does, it's a tall order.

That being said, definitely agree as long as they have Embiid in his prime, they should be looking to find someone to upgrade and that's not Brogdon. It's a good starting point I guess though.

Also, there's a hope that if he has a little bit of improvement at the beginning of the season, that teams could have some confidence to develop his offensive game and his trade value would probably go up a decent amount.
On the flip side what happens on the first game when they hack him and he misses the shots, then has a horrible game? We won't even be able to get Brogdon then. He needs to go this summer for the best package, because his value can definitely decrease.

I disagree. First, if I'm a betting man, Ben's game won't change much. One bad game isn't going to change his value. Nor am I sure why free throws would change his value, he is already terrible at them.

If I'm thinking Ben now is a better chip than Brogdon and a late first to get a chance at someone like Dame then I'd rather take that risk. Brogdon isn't getting this team over the hump. If I think that Brogdon and a late first is a better trade chip then I would do the deal. I don't think it is though.

Does he want to be that close so he can hear "Ooooooh Booker you are the king of the world !!" every night! as he cries himself to sleep?

And in case you did not know. Alex is not going to respond to you. So no daily double for you.

I'd sign for Harris for CJ in a millisecond. To me, the first priority needs to be moving that albatross of a contract and his 'best player on a bad team' type of game. If nothing else is done, that move will have upgraded this roster in a big way.

I'll take CJ over Brogdon all day. Better offensive player, better shooter, better at taking the game over. He's out of Portland this summer. There's no denying that. I just hope it's to us. I'd give up Tobias Harris for him and Portland fans seem to like that deal for the most part. It helps out both rosters and it's a fair trade.

Im with you. Cj isnt in Dame's level but he's a pretty good guard. He scores well in isolation and shoots a lot of 3s. I like Tobias but i would trade him easily for Cj.

We need a Tobias Trade Thread just as much as this one. Tobias for CJ would be the ideal outcome for us, as CJ is the guy we've needed to pair w/Jo + Ben all along. Tobias does not fit at all with them.

Starting next season CJ is owed 3/90
Harris is owed 3/111

CJ isn’t cheap at 30 million a year for next 3 seasons either.

2018 -
TJ, Redick

2019 -
Butler - Redick

2020 - LOL

2021 -
Curry, Green (Injured)

There’s the real problem right there.

Sun did this:
Build a traditional lineup positionally wise with All NBA, All star level at the very minimum above average starter material at each position... result 95-20. Only took two years they were literally the worst team in the NBA lol.

Sometimes best medicine or solution comes from somewhere where we were all those years ago.

We have our Center and PF set (Ben overpay who cares better then Harris). Why get two more? Made no sense then makes no sense now lol.

Trade for position quality that we need all this time (PG/SG). 4 years plus, Morey has a sh*t job to ride the ship can’t perform miracles overnight.

:banghead: Can’t believe people actually think Harris is better then CJ.

Save 10+ million and get a better starting quality SG? I would do Harris + Thybulle for CJ and wouldn’t think twice about it.

21 million saved while getting a much better fit with more production here and solving 1/2 of our backcourt problems? No bloody brainer. If you get Lowry who isn’t the most durable but is an an above average starter.

Lowry
CJ
Green
Simmons
Embiid

Wowee what do you know that looks like a championship quality starting unit lol.
