Just this trade and retaining our FAs at a reasonable price could be a decent offseason.

Sexton/Nunn
Robinson/Dipo
Jimmy/J-Rich
KP/Achiuwa/Ariza
Bam/Dedmon

Add a MLE level FA to that and we’re pretty deep and talented. Injuries is the big thing that may scuttle this ship, but the place we’re in is not one where we can make trades for sure-fire all-stars.

I don't think it's that bad, they get Kevin love who has one year less than KP in his contract and becomes a good expiring next year, Goran Dragic who Doncic loves him to death and would love to have him as a teammate and a young player in KZ with some potential, plus a 2nd round pick.
It ain't a blockbuster trade but it's not that bad.

We could probably find much cheaper options that would be better fits at the 4 than Love/Porz

Bobby Portis, Daniel Theis, maybe Rudy Gay. List is not deep but it’s cheaper.

It was a gossip rag rumor apparently or they made up cause Herro posted them together with him working out at the court and she was shooting hoops with him.

Kristaps. Not too concerned about 2024 cap implications since we're already gonna have Butler and Bam maxed + some combo of Duncan/Dipo/Herro/Sexton(?) on bigger contracts so we're most likely gonna be operating over the cap anyways (and it's not like I have to pay Mickey's tax bill lol). Love is turning 33 in September and every indication is that he's checked out both physically AND mentally, plus even if Love gets his mind/body right he's still an unavoidable defensive liability (would be especially brutal in our system) whereas KP has at least shown the ability to be an effective rim-protector

Agreed, the Only reason I'm taking Prozingis is because because he brings a higher ceiling then K.Love, And only reason I'm taking Love is because I want Sexton. Taking in Love's contract is part of the price, and we can kinds use him or Prozingis because we have no other big to put next to Bam.

Sexton is the single highest upside player we can realistically get in the next year or 2 IMO.

I much rather just trade Herro + Precious for Sexton if Cavs agree. Then throw chit on the wall and hope a big that shoots pans out and can play next to Bam. Monitoring Omer Yurtseven but he's probably way too raw.
