Kristaps is so scary. You could end up paying him big money for cheerleading duties. Thatd kill us.

That what scares Dallas right now too.

I'm down for other options. Maybe a senior in college? More ready to play.

Agreed, the Only reason I'm taking Prozingis is because because he brings a higher ceiling then K.Love, And only reason I'm taking Love is because I want Sexton. Taking in Love's contract is part of the price, and we can kinds use him or Prozingis because we have no other big to put next to Bam.

Sexton is the single highest upside player we can realistically get in the next year or 2 IMO.

I much rather just trade Herro + Precious for Sexton if Cavs agree. Then throw chit on the wall and hope a big that shoots pans out and can play next to Bam. Monitoring Omer Yurtseven but he's probably way too raw.

Was chatting with Dirk who said his defense and mobility dropped off quite a bit last year. If he can't move he's basically Zydrunas Ilgauskas. Not something you pay $30 million a year for the next 3 years for.

Now, maybe we can rehab him. Get him up to speed by mid-season (along with Dipo) and have him ready for the 16 wins we need at the end of the year.

If you move Dragic to Dallas with a guy like KZ, then maybe they are tempted, especially if they aren't taking years on deals.

I think two separate trades makes sense if we preferred Sexton and KP. Herro and Precious for Sexton is actually pretty good value, especially when you consider that the Cavs will likely draft another perimeter player and Sexton is about to get paid.

Why are we comparing one of his worse szn's with Kris's best?

Cheaper, currently more durable>

And that's a big difference between KP and Lauri. Kristaps can at least rim protect. Overall defense was poor last year though. Was that an outlier or what we can expect from now on?

Heat get : Sexton, Prozingis, J-Rich

Cavs get : Iggy, Herro, Precious

Mavs get : K.Love, Dragic, KZ, second round pick from Heat

Then we sign and trade Robinson for Lauri Markkanen, so we can have some insurance if Porzingis breaks.

It works money wise, legal trades all around.

We then got :

Sexton/
Rich/
Jimmy/
Bam/Lauri Markkanen
Prozingis/Dedmon

JRich would be the 6 man. In that scenario, bringing back Duncan is a huge priority

I watched Yurtseven's Turkey national matches. A better defender than Meyers. The offensive side promises more. Also very suitable for playing with guards. I agree, he is raw but probably Yurtseven will accept the minimum contract. We can train him in the first year and benefit in the following years. If we get the third maximum we will need guys like Strus and Yurtseven.

I think he have tons of potential but he can't stay healthy. I think he is a great rim protector when healthy but can he be healthy? My answer is no.
I wouldn't take that risk now.

That's a bit more than his QO. You think Bulls will just let him go?

KP at the top of his game is dynamic. Love some dynamic players. Especially when they can play both ends. He'd be nice close to the basket or from the perimeter. Three level offensive player.

Lauri was a draft fave of mine. I think his shooting is better than the percentages show. I don't think Chicago has been good for him at all. Could blow up. Don't think he has the mindset of KP to attack/compete on both ends consistently.

Agreed on Lauri. He’s similar to a KO type. Not a bad player to have but not one you can consistently trust. Chicago probably matches Bish’s 10-13 offer and continue to use him as rotational big with trade in mind down the road.

Wishful thinking;

But if not him I'd rather check on Harrison Barnes, Hield, Thaddeus, thies, Jamychal Green, Rudy, etc.

Jamychal Green would be a real sneaky sneaky get. Very similar to a Crowder type. Has a 7.5 milly player option but might turn it down for a 9.7 mid level raise. Pretty consistent stretch player from 3 shooting 39-40% consistently. Perfect fit here tbh.

When it comes to Sexton we need to be mindful that the Cavs can stretch this out and are not obligated to deal him any time soon. The draw for them to deal him much sooner is if they see a package they can't refuse. Most if not all of those packages are probably going to have Kevin Love attached if you really want the Cavs to play ball. I don't see them being knocked off there feet with a Herro and Achuiwa offer. Taking on Kevin Love and the rest of that contract with Herro and Achuiwa is another story though. Another factor muddying up the waters here is Jalen Green. This does not put them in any desperate spot for Herro. Regardless the Cavs can take there chances waiting for the highest bidder to come along around trade deadline or just deal with his restricted free agency. So pretty much the conclusion here is were going to have to bite some type of bullet if with want Sexton sooner rather then later and that means taking on Kevin Love.
