Re: Rick Carlisle!
Wikipedia already has Pierce as a Pacers Assistant coach. so I think it's in the bag. Good hire, for an assistant coach. I don't dislike him but I don't also like him that much as a head coach. Atlanta players got some issues with him that might have caused his firing, not sure what it is. I just think he's not that "ripe" yet to be a head coach. Being a top assistant fits best.
He may be a replacement for McMillan in Team USA, but I always thought being considered to be a part of that national team is special. For that same reason, I felt really bad about the McMillan firing. Anyways, moving on.

I have a goo feeling about Carlisle
Feels like he and the Pacers have unfinished work, and he's now back to get the job done

Carlisle has unfinished business and Pritchard wants to redeem himself from his gamble with Nate 2.

I wonder if they keep Kaleb Canales for some sense of continuity or if they want an entirely fresh slate.

I don't know much of anything about him, but do we really want continuity from the mess of this last season? Maybe he didn't have much to do with that mess? I have no idea either way.

Reports are that Pierce and Ronald Nored have basically been lined up, while the current staff haven’t heard a thing. Canales worked for Carlisle in Dallas years ago (and for 3 or more years), so that could mean he may be most likely to stay of any current guys? Or, it could mean he’s least likely to stay, too…

The only two “confirmed” that we know of (Pierce and Nored), sure. Cheaney may stay in player development rather than a front of bench assistant. We don’t know either way. So, could be 1 or 2 more spots to fill that we have no names to attach to.

He’s of Mexican and American descent, I believe.
He hasn’t yet been mentioned as staying on, though.

It wasn’t really a rumor as much as a question that he might be the only assistant that would make some sense. There hasn’t been a real reported connection there other than just a guess.

Re: Rick Carlisle!
TheAthletic has a new article up on Washington candidates and didn't include Nored. I hope he comes here because I liked him when he was at Butler, but if Washington even offers a top assistant job, he should jump at it.

Story also says that Carlisle tried to hire Nored last year in Dallas, but he was under contract with Charlotte for the year.

Re: Rick Carlisle!
Might not be true now, but when Nored was at Butler he had relatives who lived South of the campus.

Weinar and Boucek were on Carlisle’s staff in Dallas.
