Re: What line up are you looking forward too
I want to see how many dunks and layups a game Stewart is going to get because of Hayes ability to find him for oops, and Cade drawing attention and his passing as well.
Stewart is going to have an absolutely monster season, calling it now.

Re: What line up are you looking forward too
Looking at how Chris Paul put the Suns over the top, I cant wait to see how Cade's IQ affects the team. Players like that make the coaches job easy, all Casey has to do is motivate and provide a basic structure.
Add to that the growth of Killian... Having 2 different playmakers on the floor is going to be amazing. Both Killian and Cade are strong defenders too, so it's going to be awesome to see their synergy work on both ends.
They won't have to take breaks on defense because they can take turns handling the ball.
Stewart and Saddiq can be the finishers, and Grant can be the slasher/iso driver.
Nobody will be overburdened and everyone will complement each other perfectly. Having Cade is going to be like having the best of Blake and the best of DRose combined in a 19 year old body.
Modern playmaking + No defensive weak links - THAT'S DETROIT BASKETBALL!!!!

You need 2-way wings, 2-way shooting bigs, and you can't allow low iq players on the court. Assist/turnover ratio is crucial. Shooting point guards are icing on the cake IF they are plus defenders.
Weaver & Casey, govern yourselves accordingly!

i agree with you that those five would be the most intriguing for the reasons you said. that lineup would be a little cade-heavy though so i'm also really looking forward to seeing plumlee in that lineup instead of stewart. his ball handling/passing with three 40% 3 point shooters around him plus jerami grant could be deadly when running DHO's through plumlee.
i know a lot of people are excited about hayes' passing alongside cade but i think you have diminishing returns on play making until hayes becomes a better scorer himself.

Getting Duncan Robinson is definitely a move I'm on board with. Even if he does nothing but bomb catch and shoot 3's. Let Cade and Grant drive to the hoop and score or kick out to DRob or Bey.

who is guarding PG's and SG's in this lineup
I think Cade has to start in a lineup with someone who can guard 1's, Cade should be guarding 3's and 4's with some ability to guard 2's

I was skimming through and saw T. Murphy and thought of Troy Murphy for awhile. Thought I entered a timewarp

Agreed. I hope Hayes proves me wrong and improves his 3 point shot and scoring. But Frank Jacskon already showed he can hit that catch and shoot three and score within the offense last year.
Ideally Hayes would be better though with his stifling defense.

I think Cade has to start in a lineup with someone who can guard 1's, Cade should be guarding 3's and 4's with some ability to guard 2's
Cade is 220 pounds and 6'8" with a 7 foot wingspan. His defensive advantage is going to be his height and length on guys. You also get to to switch pick and rolls with his size and with who we have at other positions. That's really the concern about guarding small quick guards, how can they abuse a team on the pick and roll. Luckily we're going to be great in that area and even if Cade gets because he can recover with that 7 ft wingspan. We also have a team of guys that have the height and ability to switch the pick and roll well. That listed starting lineup of Cade, Robinson, Bey, Grant, and Stewart everyone is either 6'7" or 6'8" so your entire team and switch pick and rolls. No one is slow and no one is going to get abused for being to short.
Defensively its becoming more and more important to not be 6'1" anymore because the NBA doesn't allow contact and guys will just shoot over the top of you.

fair enough, on the length but Robinson seems like a defensive liability in any circumstance. His shooting makes up for it though. I'm actually very interested to see if Casey runs Cade out there as the PG/primary ball handler initially.

The same guys who get to go up against PG's and SG's on the other end. If you want to break it down into a one-on-one thing I'll take a big SG/SF over a PG any day, assuming they're both considered to be at the same level at their position.

Re: What line up are you looking forward too
Cade/Bey/Grant/Plumlee and a SG capable of playing defense, hit 3's and not demanding the ball, basically what we had in Bullock when he was consistently shooting 40%+ from 3 and guarding the opponent best perimeter player.
Hayes couldn't hit his shots, and his strength was his court vision and passing, for that he requires the ball in his hands, and I want the ball in Cade's hands.
Frank Jackson tries hard on defense but he is not very good there, I feel like he will be a good scorer off the bench, we need someone else starting.
If Charlotte is not excited about bringing Malik Monk back, I'd be fine doing a sign and trade and acquiring him, he could be really good (or really bad lol, especially because his defense is suspect)
