Cavs are willing to move out of top 3 and dump loves contract
Knicks get a young and competent point guard to pair with randle rj iq we already signed luca so we added a solid bench player dont need a pick this year.

Lol....sga for two mid round firsts? Somehow I think he's worth a lot more than that.
The trade allows okc to jump from #6 to #3(usually that costs a 1st eounder). Something they desperately want to do. They want a top 3 pick. I'll even throw in the dallas pick or iq if needed.

I'd do this trade, and keep Love instead of Nerlens.

To get SGA we are parting with depending on the teams involved one of RJ or IQ. Plus more picks would be needed. Do not snooze on the 2023 pick values as that is supposed to be the super draft where 1 & dones and HS'ers are in the same draft.

It is SGA, Kendrick Nunn, Rose, and IQ backcourt all the way for me. Can build from there.

If the Thunder trade SGA for more draft picks it would be the first time I thought Same Presti might actually be an idiot.

The trade as proposed did not include RJ or IQ, so trading either or both of them is NOT what I was commenting on.
SGA is so valuable that he is worth the gamble we take with every draft pick mentioned in the proposed trade. I doubt that ANY of those picks would get us someone as valuable as SGA will be now and in the long run.

Logged in to request somebody else do this for me, but then decided to just google it myself:

Two and a half weeks from today Thurs. July 22: Season ends (if Finals go 7).
One week later Thursday, July 29th: NBA Draft.
Four days later Monday, Aug 2 at 6pm: Moratorium begins, teams can recruit free agents.
Three nights later midnight Friday, Aug 6: FA signing begins.

Assuming nothing happens until Golden State makes it move, Kawhi decides, and Damian Lillard either demands out or doesn't. But all this sh*t will happen fast, and our 2021-22 roster should be filled out by mid-August, so like 6 weeks from today.

Feels like this might be the year that major trades happen during the draft itself.

We are giving 2/3 first rounders 2 second rounders and taking on 60+ in salary. Paul george was traded for 4 firsts.

Also the thunder want a top 3 pick.

Again, we are giving up multiple firsts/seconds AND taking on 60 mil+ in salary.

Okc isnt just getting any number of random draft picks, they are getting the pick they want in the draft they want. Those are two different things.

They know sga doesnt want to stay in okc. Better to trade him while they can.

Is that true? I haven't heard that. I heard that it was a timeline thing. If its about them not being a wining team I thought it would make more sense to use their draft picks to trade for a star next to SGA to keep him happy, as opposed to trading their young players for more young players and rebuilding perpetually.

But I guess if he's hinting he wants to leave no matter what than that changes things. Honestly, I'd sooner look into trading Randle in a deal for him than our other players, but the Knicks organization probably wouldn't agree. I just think its risky to trade the farm to start building around Randle because in my mind there's still a chance his last season was fluke since Covid changed so many things.

SGA
Huerter
RJ the GOAT
Randle
Noel

Mitch, Obi, IQ and any necessary picks can go in that SGA trade. Frank, Knox + whatever more it takes go for Huerter. Looks good to me.

Trading Mitch AND IQ foh.... And selling Obi while he just flashed in his first taste of playoff bball and hia value is low.... I hope the Knicks wouldn't think like this

Noel as a starter LOL might as well just forfeit the season

Imo that's a good output for basically average pieces.

Had to re-read this. "seem like front-runners" is a far cry from "are" front-runners.

Ball may not be THE ANSWER to the point guard problem, but if he can be had reasonably just for money, I'm more down with it than gutting the team/draft picks for Lillard or whomever. Wonder what Lonzo and Paul would bring if both could be had for just $$$. Could we still afford a FA like Rachun Holmes and fill the wings with draft picks?

My opinion on Lonzo is simple. He’s young with good measurables & know how to ball. He also has a name which is decent for trade value.

If there’s a Dame trade, I think it happens at the deadline. We should maximize assets for current run and trade purposes. Say we sign Lonzo, Oubre & Olnyk this summer, by the trade deadline - those are good pieces to help prevent trading a RJ, IQ, etc.

Lonzo, Oubre, Obi, Knox, Mitch & picks seems like a good package to me
