Current nba former piston all team

Post#1 » by mike06181 » Sun Jul 4, 2021 6:23 pm

So with seeing some former pistons doing well in the playoffs i thought it might be fun to make a all former piston roster and what you would think their record would be. These have to be former pistons not anyone on the current roster. So guys drafted by the pistons or who wore the pistons jersey at some point in their career who are still in the league. So a only if we kept…. Roster.

(Updated to include replied names and me googling former pistons)

Middleton/Snell/S. Johnson
Harris/Marcus Morris/markieff
Wood/Griffin/Drummond
Jackson/Dinwiddie/Rose/Augustin
kennard/Brown/Galloway

I’m thinking I missed people.

Full on treadmill team.

Middleton is the only one that pains me. I like Tobias too but it doesn’t bug me.

Everyone else? Ranks from “oh sure, I remember him” to “thank god he’s gone”.

I'm ok with all of them even Middleton. It all led us to this number one pick.

Middleton we botched, there’s no feasible argument that we didn’t bitch it.
I think we moved on from Marcus too early, I liked his style of play and attitude.
I liked Tobias, but the main reason to keep him is of course never dealing for Blake.

Even with all that, we are so much better off with where we are at.

Eh. These years of suffering aren’t vindicated by one pick. Not yet anyway.

The drama is there's no alpha on that team, no clear leader, no clear delineation between the top guys and the rest.

Middleton, Harris, Playoff Reggie are all fine players and have done well but who sets the tone, who leads on and off the floor?

Really happy to see some of these former Pistons doing well but most of that is due to the environment and role they now have instead of being here

The point that all those moves are what resulted in the pick. You have to suck to wind up with it.

Not necessarily for as many years as we did though.

Ours was a roundabout path.

Even if we held onto Middleton and Harris we would of just been a Pacers style team that never has any title equity. I'm more annoyed by the missed lotto picks over the years like missing on Booker and D.Mitch. Trading a lotto pick in a good late lotto for Blake annoys me as well.

Either way were in the best position we've been in since the going to work days right now. Not saying this one pick is vindicating all that either. Cade still has to work out. I still believe we need another good lotto talent to go with Cade in this coming lotto as well unless Killian is going to drastically improve in his 2nd season.

Bey might be that guy though

Long, athletic, can shoot it from deep.

Obviously needs to work on a lot of things but he's got some key tools already.

Hayes too, depending on his progression over the next 2 years

Without a doubt it was a lousy path since it was mostly unintended due to miserably failed moves made to get the exact opposite outcome and yes, therefore did take a long time. Either way though, we're here now--a nice looking core and a fine #1 pick to continue building around.

Kinda like suffering serious injuries due to an accident resulting from gross negligence on someone else's part, resulting in you winning a multimillion-dollar settlement. Definitely not the path you would have chosen for becoming a millionaire but your injuries will heal and hey, now you're a millionaire. Certainly most people wouldn't look back on that and say "I'm glad that happened," but I'm not sure many would be all that upset about the result either. :)

Yeah Beys great at what he does as a 3pt specialist. I'm not sure how much better he turns out getting though. Hes already 22 which limits his upside some. I feel hes going to be like a Tayshaun Prince a guy who hits his peak early and turns out being a solid 4th option on a contender. Maybe he turns out being like a T.Harris a guy who can be your #3 on a title contender if you have a really good duo which hopefully Cade is the first part of that duo.

Figure Cade hits to where hes like a Tatum/Pg13 type player we still need another big time guy to go with him. I mean if hes Luka Doncic you can get by with less around him but I think thats a big ask for him to be as good as Luka maybe as his ceiling but its a big ask. If hes PG13 or Tatum like a top 10ish type guy in the league I think everyone is thrilled. If you have a top 10ish guy we still need another top 20 guy and a good supporting cast which I think guys like Bey/Stewert/Killian can be those guys but I still think we need another good lotto pick or to sign like Zach Lavine or something. Maybe Killian turns it around and thats the guy we shall see but I'm hoping we can get another high lotto pick with some luck this season and really be set.
