My guess is the Jazz would probably have to add in some future 2nd Round pick. Otherwise it probably just seems like a "why do it" deal from the Kings perspective.

Should probably be nothing or maybe a late 2nd. Both solid players with potentially bigger roles on their new teams particularly if Conley leaves. But Kings fans seem to have no interest in trading their 4th guard to upgrade their front court which right now consists of Barnes and uh well Barnes really.
I wanted to argue your last sentence, but they’ve got nothing. It’s shockingly bad

The frontcourt in Sacramento is very poor, as you said. If Holmes is retained, that leaves the team with only 2 proven frontcourt players (Barnes and Holmes). Those players happen to play heavy minutes so if an injury happens, things go downhill fast. The issues with moving Wright are that he’s a fantastic fit with Fox and Hali and the team has no fully trustable ball handlers/playmakers outside of these three. Basically, they are the 3-guard rotation. If Wright goes, then the team will not have another ball handler and we will see similar issues to when CoJo was on the team. Wright just plays the way the team wants to play.
Note: Buddy was playing the 3 after Wright was acquired, so I am reluctant to call Wright the 4th guard. He played a lot of minutes. Buddy is a big dude, even though he’s only 6’4”. He’s relatively strong and is able to guard a lot of 3’s surprisingly ok. His defense really takes a downward turn when he guards quicker players (2-guards), which is probably the main reason Walton played him at the 3.
To answer your question about Favors for Wright, I just don’t see how McNair goes for it unless he has already lined up a way to get Wright’s replacement. If he has that player lined up, then I could see a potential Favors plus a 2nd or 2 swap, but even then, I don’t see Favors being the target. I really like Favors, but he just doesn’t seem like a fit in this high tempo offense and I think he would look poor in Walton’s system (if you want to call it that).

As a pistons fan who knows little about the kings other than they finally seem to have a direction, I wouldn’t trade Wright.
Back to the front court depth, I guess I’m just surprised they never seemed to address it this season. They made smaller moves, but it’s fairly poor.

I think Wright has found a home. He really impressed when he came in to the fold and has the skill set to play with both of the franchise cornerstones. He corrected a lot of the issues that the Kings had pre-deadline and I don’t really see another player coming in at a similar or cheaper price that can do what he does.
As for why they didn’t do more, you got me. Monte went “value shopping” and did not come away with any frontcourt players. The Wright acquisition was the only slightly exciting move and it paid off. The Terence Davis acquisition has worked out, but it really put a bad taste in my mouth with how his off-court issues have plagued his image. Everything else was minuscule. If Holmes isn’t retained, then we are going to have a lot of people looking at that deadline and wondering why Holmes wasn’t sold for a 1st or an impactful player. The direction was baffling after the deadline.

This is interesting. Not sure how I feel about it. On one hand, it's a former head coach who had a strong reputation as an assistant. On the other hand, he was awful as a head coach and supposedly abrasive.
At a minimum, this, along with the Carlisle hire and the chasing of Fizdale shows ownership isn't trying to pinch pennies here. Whether they picked the right people could be another story.

Re: Thoughts in General, Rumors, etc 3.0
Would Cleveland be interested in something like this..
To Cleveland: #6, #16, #34, 2022 1st unprotected.
To OKC: #3
Currently Atlanta has our 2022 1st if it falls out of the lottery, but is it still tradeable before the lottery with the same protections? If not maybe a trade like...
To Atl: #18
To OKC: our 1st back in 2022.
Would love to pair Shai with Suggs or Mobley.

I’m not sure how credible Dumas is, but I think Brogdon would be a sensational return for Simmons. I may think too highly of him though.

He isn't anyone I follow for what that is worth.

I do think that the Sixers are gonna get a better return for Simmons than most think but Brogdon + a 1st is not that bad. This is close to fair value.

The funny part is Brogdon is worse at defense than CJ and only a year younger. I'm going to giggle a fair bit if thats it.

Yeah I don't particularly trust that guy, generally. Seen him report a few things here and there that just seemed to be speculation

How exactly is he worse at defense? He's not a good defender, but he's better than CJ as he can at least hold his own in certain matchups. He's paid quite a bit less too.

This is my outsider’s understanding as well

Silly question. Tyreke Evans was eligible to apply for reinstatement as of May of 2021. On a cursory search, I can’t really find anything on him over the last two years. Did he not play anywhere else? Any news reports of his workouts? Will he apply for reinstatement?
He had talent. His work ethic just wasn’t there in that last year in Indy. Just seems like his talent could still get him a vet minimum for a year with someone that could use his talents, if he wanted to. Granted, he’s made well over $70m in his career, so maybe he just doesn’t care to anymore.

In news that no one here but me probably cares about: ?s=20
Wallace had some big hits and some big misses with the Grizz. Probably best to get some experience in there though, they don't have a ton of it in the FO.
They also hired their recently let go color guy and former Rocket Matt Bullard to a spot in the FO

That's because Wright will be the Kings 3rd guard when Buddy is traded.

Based off you Front OFfice moves and new GM.....who do you think the Rockets will take with the 2nd overall pick

No idea
I don't think it will be Suggs though, Stone has been preaching about finding super star upside, and while Suggs is the safest bet to be a really high level player among the three tier two guys, I think most agree he also has the lowest ceiling

Honestly it was almost exclusively misses outside Dillon Brooks. Wallace was a fairly terrible GM who got lucky with the Core 4. That said, he has been a part of the scouting department for us the last couple years and we've had some really good drafts so maybe he'll do well in Houston.
