Thoughts on Fox:

- Not a good shooter
- Not a good defender

I can look past the defense, he covers the 20/7 mark so that’s fine. Does he add value to winning basketball? Kings are a horrible front office so can’t say which way. His archetype is good.

51 and 58 games respectively last two years, after playing a lot more the two years before.

Added weight/bulked up compensating for less durability?

Surely the Kings knows something we don’t.

De'Aaron Fox not a good defender? On what planet? This is why plus/minus stats are trash. Fox is a terrific defender.

Fox is good but he's not a good shooter.. i dont like the trade, i would rather see Maxey getting starter minutes. I know Fox is way better than him, but i actually think Tyrese may be a better shooter than him next season. I dont like the archetype of a small pg who cant shoot. I would try Lavine or Beal, but it is what is...

Not enamoured with him, but then again we're also trading a player with his own baggage. I think a De'Aaron trade only makes sense accompanied with a CJ deal or one for another brilliant/reliable half court scorer. He's solid, but he isn't going to come in and have a Chris Paul Suns effect.

Well if it’s CJ and Fox (Don’t rate the pairing highly) it is Fox and CJ.

The two wings have to be sound defensively or we’ll get lit up from the three like a Christmas tree.

We defended the 3ball well this year in the playoffs and I still can’t fathom how we lost to the Hawks.

We outscored, out rebounded, higher 3ball %, they just had more shots and less turnovers. Weird series overall lol.

Bucks just figured out they are too big and Holiday was going to the rim whenever he could basically.

I think there's a handful of stars that could be up for trades.

As much as I like Fox, I don't like his fit with Embiid. Ideally, we land a guy who can provide legitimate space.

If I am Morey I have my godfather offer ready and pitch it to Nets for Harden or Portland for Dame. I still honestly believe Harden fits better with us and Simmons fits best with the Nets.

Fox represents to me the clear best long term piece we can get in exchange for Simmons. SGA is a close second and all the other guys a lot far behind. This includes for me Lillard, Beal, Lavine, etc. Fox is a flat out star in a bad situation.

Bigman have paired well with elite penetrators, regardless of the penetrator's ability to shoot, throughout NBA history. You supplement shooting in the role players you put around your star duo.

Fox is a nice young player but there’s virtually no chance of an improved showing next season if he’s the major off season move

Nah, Fox is built to be a playoff killer. He's unguardable in the halfcourt. The exact player that puts up over the top and makes us a Finals threat.

Fox has never even made the playoffs

Nets have 3 superstars, we’ll have one & pretty much no chance if they’re healthy

That’s just one team

I wouldn’t back an Embiid/Fox led team against plenty of others

Fox is a piece and that’s pretty much it

Fox is in no shape or form better than SGA. He's noticeably inferior actually.

Age and upside put Fox ahead of a guy like Beal for me though. It is an unusual concept for this city- but Fox should still get a decent amount better, he's still only 23. Playing with Joel Embiid would elevate his game, and vice versa.

That's because he's 23 in a crap organization. As soon as he gets on a good team, he's going to be a nightmare for opposing defenses to defend. Especially playing with the most dominant postplayer in the NBA.

Shai is one of my favorite players in the league, but there's no just feasible trade for him. He's not even on a max yet. That's why I think Fox and Ingram are the only reasonable swap targets for Simmons. I mean, we can call on Mitchell but Utah will laugh and hangup.

I trust Fox's ability to get to the line more in the playoffs and his overall efficiency is poor in relation to SGA because of shot selection. He's definitely a better defender even if SGA has the better defensive attributes. I think it's a coin flip who has the better forward outlook but I'd take Fox.

De'Aaron is in like the Donovan Mitchell vein where he'll overwhelm you with his skill but mostly his physical ability. Shai is under that Luka tree where he just manipulates the game to his own pace. Genuinely a basketball genius. Him, Luka and Trae are the three best youngsters in the game.

I would view Embiid & Shai as a championship partnership, like Lebron & AD were where you'd build the team around them. Fox & Embiid would need a decent third cog imo.

You can't go wrong with either of them. Shai is the more skilled player in terms of his three point shooting and free throws. Fox is the better defender with a more charismatic personality that lends well to leadership. Fox has the contract to facilitate a Simmons swap so he becomes the obvious trade target.

Fair take. Reasonable minds can disagree. I think Embiid & Fox is definitely a championship level duo that just needs a good fit 3rd banana on the Jrue level. I think Fox takes a leap in his next stop. Doubt Sacramento can unlock his peak powers.

This guy gets it. We will be sitting pretty if we can acquire a guard that is at a SGA/Fox level or better.
