Really interested in finding out if it was schroeder or his agent that pushed for the decline in our offer. We clearly were overpaying and he did absolutely nothing to increase his market value.

I dont think you can add other players to a sign-and-trade deal. So if we're dealing Schroeder it's only his contract going out.
As for your targets i think i like them as prospects, but probably not trade targets. I do believe in both Bamba and Fultz as prospects (still), but now is not a time to gamble on upside - especially at that price.
Porter is a FA who i think would fit well at the 3, but he's only played a handfull of games these past couple of seasons, so i'd be reluctant to pay him all that much. I guess you could trade for him using Montrezl Harrell?
(Harrell to Orl for s/t Porter on a 3-4 yr mid-level-sized deal).
How about:
Steven Adams (17M + 18M). Would allow us to flip Harrell and/or Gasol and move on from Drummond.
Eric Bledsoe (18M + 19M). Lateral move. Cost controlled. Better defense.
Tomas Satoransky (10M) + Thad Young (14M). Would give us defense, shooting, slashing and versatility. Bulls save money.
Terry Rozier (17M). Lateral move. Better shooting.
So any Schroder + Harrell trades are forbidden under the CBA ?
Adams is sometimes to kind to his opponents
Bledsoe disappear in every playoffs
The third and forth seems better fit and more realistic though I don't really know if Rozier worth that kind of money
I dont think Schroeder + Harrell is allowed under the CBA.
I wouldn't mind Adams or Bledsoe.
I actualy wouldn't mind Adams and Bledsoe either, they are just way better team players than Dennis is. I simply want to dig out the better fit to the team.
Why I advocate Mo Bamba is mainly due to his defensive presence along with his agility and 3 pt shooting as you can see how Ayton can "dominate" in the playoff. I think Bamba is a great pairing option to AD and also fit the modern NBA playing style. Magic is likely to draft Mobley in the upcoming draft. With Carter already in the fold, I doubt Magic still want Bamba and Wagner on the team. A Schroder for Bamba, Porter/Fultz / Ross and fillers trade fills 2 of our needs instantly.
More so, if Frank can turn Hibbert into a near all-star level player, why not Bamba
I wouldn't mind other options as well as long as them being team player and fit the team

More and more I think the Lakers need to make James the full-time PG (on offense) and surround him with with two shooters in the starting lineup (Pope and another guy).
Tucker needs to be James' backup with Caruso as Pope's backup. That would make for two very expensive backups but, lack of experience not withstanding, they would provide great depth in the event of injuries. Tucker would also have to make a leap as playmaker.
Also, McLemore (or some other gunner off the bench) needs to be resigned as well to serve as a backup to whichever shooter they replace Schroeder with in the starting lineup.
Guys like Hield, Beasley, or Eric Gordon in the first five fit what this team needs much more than a guy like Schroeder.

Re: Schröder's Catechism: an elite FA, or nah?
Lebron's s soon to be 37 and in his 19th season.
He needs to hog the ball less, not more. Being a full time PG and having the ball all the time(and picking up full court) is a full NO.
Moreover, we are capped out and premium bigs who can play in today's league are few and far between and not in our price range.
All of our bigs will leave the roster this summer, both him and Davis need to suck it up and be our guys in the post, with Davis as a C.
It's super easy to add a combo guard or a 3D wing, it's hard like a bitch to add a 2021 modern C. So that's Davis until further notice.
Not in the playoffs, not closing out games. 35 **** minutes a game ALL AT C!!
Lebron can be the full time point forward but he ain't carrying no ball past half court. We have the 10 mil MLE to find a guy who will do that and can be a positive player off the ball after he passes it to Lebron.

Has anyone watched Bledsoe play? Dude is barely a rotation player at this point. lol I get that people dislike Schröder's personality, but Bledsoe is not an upgrade. I can stand Schröder either, but emotions aside, the whole point is to get better.

Schroder & Harrell to Magic for Otto Porter, Bamba and Fultz
I know it is difficult with having both Schroder and Harrell agreeing to join the Magic together.
Fultz's health / condition and shooting are very questionable though.
But we could get what we actually need in the squad. A 3 pt shooting center to pair with AD, a very good 3&D player and a good pg to control the pace. After that, we only need some minor addition to the squad and we are good to go.
Would you do this trade if you're the Magic?

The Timberwolves played their best ball last year with Beasley gone. I don't know if he's on the market, but their rookie of the year runner up plays the same position and flourished with Beasley not being there.
It would seem to me that they'd explore moving him if he is in Edwards way at all, but the Wolves are gonna Wolf, so who knows.

It depends on how Magic see Fultz going forward. If they think Fultz being too injury prone going forward as how the 76ers saw him and decide to move on from him, Schroder may be an answer for them. IF they still see Fultz as their future long term pg, they shall immediately turn the proposal down or we can get a Ross instead.
Otto Porter may be a goner anyway, so taking back something useful is net positive move for the Magic.
Bamba's day in the Magic is counting down already with him being seen as a surplus with Carter already in the fold. Bamba's contract is still very reasonably cheap. Even if he is a bust, we do not loss much. I trust Frank and James can coach him and guide him to become a much better player. Ayton had his own problem, he turns out to be so good this year with proper coaching and guidance. Harrell can easily be the sixth man off the bench playing alongside Carter and Issac.
That said, MAgic's willingness also very much depends on who they get in the upcoming draft.
Of course, pipe dream would be Schroder for Lavine. And, I wouldn't mind any move for some real team players who suit our needs and fit our team. Just throwing out proposals for discussions.
