Alperen Sengun continues to remain as a projected 2nd round pick on NBAdraft.net. They've been surprisingly accurate in the past... if they're right about this, he absolutely has to be our target.

When in doubt, don't draft a center.

This.

So, I've only seen highlights - guy looks smart, flashy passer.

Can play offense too, apparently:

Could be interesting. Not sure if it's just the hair, but kind of reminds me Lamelo Ball's mixtape. Even does the putback dunk (0:35):

He lit up Illinois. He has an unconventional and awkward game, but definitely cerebral. I’d be interested.

Side note: does it strike anyone else as bizarre and somewhat unsettling that scouts were super impressed by his ability to understand a common drill taught to 8 year olds? What does that say about the other prospects? Weird story.

Due to fears about a possible heart condition Jared Butler of Baylor may drop into the 2nd Round. He played the last year at Baylor at a pretty high level. He was projected as a First Rounder between #16 and #26 a few months ago. Of course the team would have to have medical experts weigh in but I think he'd help us right away. He's got an NBA ready game. With a 2nd Round pick you can take chances you wouldn't take with a 1st Round Pick. There is a lot of potential talent that's going to be available in the 2nd Round. I wish we could pluck a few from teams that have too many Draft picks.

They're only surprisingly accurate on their final mock right before the draft.

All the mocks leading up to it aren't good. Wait until July 28 for a decent mock from them.

Checking out a number of draft sites, the consensus is that Sengun will go in the first round. I even think NBAdraft has moved him up now.

He's still 32 on their latest mock draft. I'm always less in-tuned when the Bulls don't have a meaningful draft pick, but he still strikes me as a guy who could fall. He's foreign, a more traditional center, a little slow-footed on defense. That seems like a good recipe for a guy who could fall to the second round.

Suggs is going #6 on that draft too. Both Kuminga and Scottie going ahead of him.

Has Sharife Cooper at 28. If he goes that low and AK doesn’t attempt to aggressively move up to get him, I’ll be on fire. These are the types of high risk moves AK has to look at now in the draft. If a player with some elite traits falls due to other weaknesses that could possibly be cured, you gotta go all in to take that shot.
